It worked for me
Bought this after my Samsung 46" LCD TV started failing. I bought the tv in 2007 and just out of warranty the tv started showing signs of defect ( taking longer to turn on, repeated clicking sound when attempting to turn on and purple spots covering the entire screen when the tv did turn on.) I am not electronics technician but had done several repair projects ranging from speaker builds to repairing all kinds of broken stuff around the house including my two year old Frigidaire refrigerator (that's a whole other issue). After doing my research on the tv problems (google Samsung tv capacitor problems. I missed out on the lawsuit settlement) and reading some forums it was plain the the capacitor used on the power boards of several tv's was cheap and underpowered causing the tv's to fail. They also explained how to do the repair yourself instead of spending hundreds of dollars in a repair shop (one shop I called said $250). I carefully followed instructions and saw and replaced all the swollen capacitors with only pieces from this kit. Tv repaired over two year ago and works extremely well with no problems.Pros... Price, quick shipping, exactly what was needed.Cons... nothing reallyOther thoughts: Samsung lost me as a customer with this massive failure. I am not one for following brands loyally. I look for value more than anything else in a product but after spending over $1200 at the time and having it fail so soon, i've become very skeptical of buying anything else Samsung.

worth it
I have a 52in samsung lcd that clicked on and off when I tried to turn it on. It started out as just several repeats, then progressed to 10 times, and eventually 10+ minutes. I called Samsung. They wouldn't say what was wrong, but would charge $99 for someone to come over, $199 to fix it plus parts, and $150 to take it off the wall mount. I didn't even ask how much it was to put it back on the wall. Did some research online, and this is a common problem. Samsung had settled a class action lawsuit and will send someone over to fix it your TV falls under those listed, but needs to have been manufactured 2006-2008. Samsung did tell me mine was made in March 2009, so they can't do anything about it.Anyway, I ordered this as well as the cheapy soldering iron. I had my brother-in-law and sister to help me take the TV off the wall. I replaced two of the capacitors that were puffy. I used a bit of the solder and did not need the solder wick. I had never soldered before, so those that are not handy, be encouraged. The whole endeavor probably took about 2.5 hours to get the TV off the wall, remove the backing, remove the circuit board thing, take of the capacitors, solder new ones in, and put everything back.If you have an electronics store nearby (I think these are pretty cheap), it might have been easier to buy individual capacitors, but this was more convenient for me. And saved at least $300.

Not Quite What I needed
I suppose i bought them on a whim, but once i sat down to perform the work, I realized that only 3 of the caps in this kit will work on the TV i am repairing, the UN55FH6030, . bummer... Looking around, I'll need to buy the rest individually to finish this repair. None of the caps look particularly bad, and i'd have to unweld them to test them anyway. the only one that looks even slightly bulged is the 120uF @ 450v in the center, which wouldnt be in this kit anyway.

Fixed our tv perfectly!
We followed the instructions from the website, where we ordered these capacitors, and our tv is working like new! We had almost given up on the tv to buy a new one. But we fixed it ourselves, and couldn't be more pleased. We did NOT realize that the copper colored wire included with the capacitor kit was to DE-SOLDER the original capacitors, so we had much trouble removing them, to replace them. Finally we searched online for an easier way to get them out, and happened upon some instructions that mentioned the copper wire used for de-soldering. If we'd known that, it would have been much easier. The online instructions, nor the instructions in the kit mentioned it. Other than that, it was easy-peasy!

It was plug and play and the TV works exactly like new. The one needed was a 250 micro ...
The kit contained several capacitors but not the one I needed. Totally worthless. Besides I waited three weeks plus for it.I did find a complete power supply for the Samsung in eBay for $54 and it came in THREE DAYS.It was plug and play and the TV works exactly like new.The one needed was a 250 micro farad 450 wv HK 105 deg C (M) and is and is 350 mm in diameter by 250 mm high. the only Cap in the kit that was 250 micro farad is about the size of your little finger before the first joint.

You CAN fix it yourself!!
Quick delivery! Sent 11 capacitors, only 2 were needed, will save the rest just in case....Yes, you CAN repair your TV yourself! After watching a few video tutorials online, I felt confident enough to do my own soldering. I know for a fact I saved a lots of $$ and time the tv would have spent in the shop.NOTE: There is a CLASS-ACTION LAWSUIT against Samsung concerning this bad capacitor issue (...) Samung offers to pay for the fix, but I figured I could save myself from the whole hassle of dealing with appointments and waiting for the repair by just doing it myself. The kit includes enough solder and wick for the self-repair. All you need is the soldering tool. Took me about 2 hours, a lot of that time was spent just removing and replacing the back cover of the tv (a lot of screws).I would NEVER have attempted this myself, even though I consider myself fairly handy. But an expensive LCD tv? Well, after watching a few videos on how to do it (google "replace lcd tv capacitor") I knew I could do it myself. You can easily tell, after taking the back cover of the tv off, which capacitors are bad. They will be bulging at the end and not look like the rest around them (I had 2 bad capacitors). If you think you don't have the skills, certainly you know someone who does. Save yourself some time and $$ and get this kit and get your tv working again!!
