Complaints are valid, but still awesome.
The two major complaints I see are installation difficulty and mess due to low water level. Both complaints may be valid, but they are dealt with easy enough and all the other great things about it tip the balance in its favor.Installation: In my new construction it was straightforward enough but unforgiving of mistakes. There was't much room to fudge; everything had to be perfect. However, in fairness to this product I have to point out that most of the difficulty was the fault of the in-wall carrier (sold separately) and the actual installation of this toilet was as dead simple as a standard toilet. The problem is in the whole in-wall tank/wall hung concept, not a problem with this product. New install was hard enough; I shudder to think of a retrofit. The key here is planning. Know exactly how this is all going together, plan for every detail, then execute with patience and precision and you'll be fine.Mess: Yes, the low water level is disconcerting at first. Yes, there are remnants, not infrequently. However, we've found that if that happens then letting some wet tissue sit on the affected area for a few minutes while we do something else, followed by a second flush takes care of the problem easily. Could be the Sanigloss responsible for that.Things that make it awesome: space saving, unstoppability, and access. Our tiny bathroom does not feel tiny or crowded, and we owe that entirely to the space saved by the in-wall system. You wouldn't think 12-16 inches of tank is that much, but in a 50 sq ft bathroom it is a world of difference. There is nothing touching the floor. Therefore, a mop slides under and all the way to the wall easily. Therefore, there is no such thing as that disgusting "behind the toilet" area. Therefore, awesome. This thing is unstoppable. Literally. In six months of use it has never even threatened to clog. I have flushed 1/3 of a Scott tissue roll along with the event you might imagine proceeded such a thing and this toilet handled it with aplomb. It is truly impressive. It was a stupidly pricey commitment I never would have chosen but for my wife's insistence, but I absolutely do not regret it now.EDIT: In use for six years now. Never a clog. NEVER. It's baffling, but impressive. We don't even own a plunger any more. Before we were forced to buy a bolt-on bidet (thanks a lot COVID!) our son would run absurd amounts of toilet paper through this thing. Any time he uses the bathroom somewhere other than home we have to remind him to be careful about paper usage because if we don't he will, invariably, clog the toilet wherever it is we're at. This toilet has trained him that there is no such thing as "too much toilet paper". But, alas, there is such a thing, isn't there? Just not with the Toto Aquia.EDIT#2: Forgot to mention that after six years it is still a rarity for there to be remnants and when there is a bit of wet paper on the affected area for a little while resolves the issue with no elbow grease required. General cleaning is still a breeze and it is still sparkling white.

At 21 in from the wall it was the best I found
I remodeled a smaller bathroom in my home. I have been using this for 6 months now. I needed more room to put in a shower. At 21 in from the wall it was the best I found. I liked the idea of a dual flush. Now I would like to replace the other toilets in my house with this.I actually had to buy 2. When the first one arrived I stood it up in a corner. My cat jumped in it and it tipped over and the back corner broke off where the water is directed through the rim. (In that way it is very fragile at the back wall). After it arrived, I was reluctant about the shape of the bowl inside. It reminded me of European toilets that I had a bad experience with not cleaning well. But after 6 mo I understand this was not the case. Others have noted that it does not retain water much in it. But I have not yet found that to be adverse. I am only using soap and water now to clean up once in awhile. Without a lot of standing water it stays cleaner I think.I am very happy with this toilet. This is the best toilet I have ever seen. It cleans very easily and remains clean. I mounted it at 16.5 comfort level. It is very attractive design. I used the Gerberit flush tank because it is 19" wide in 2x6 wall with variable mounting height. I found it very easy to install. I followed the directions very carefully, and doubled checked the pipe cutoffs. Because of my pipes I had to install at slightly more than the maximum 45 deg off vertical. But I think it works well anyway. Wall hung is the best to keep the floor clean.I think Toto has engineered a extremely efficient and effective toilet. I have yet to find any other that I think is better. I am convinced that the dual flush system is the only way to go. I have yet to need to flush 2x like others 1.28 toilets.

poor flush
despite my EXTENSIVE research into MANY brands, I did not make the correct choice in this toilet. good flushing action but does NOT always clear away all the debris

A very cool toilet
I like the way this toilet looks. I wanted the off the wall unit to maximize the space in my bathroom and to make it look bigger (since the toilet has no base and won't extend as far -- it gives a nice open look). The price was the lowest on Amazon and it came right away. There are a few items required besides the toilet including the in the wall frame and the cover for the flush buttons and the toilet seat. I found a damaged unit on ebay that was heavily discounted (bent frame). Even though it was risky I figured I could make it work. I bought the button cover on Amazon but it took a really long time for delivery (2 months). Lowest price though and it didn't hold up my renovation because I was moving pretty slow.Installation was challenging and I did make an error calculating the bowl height (it's adjustable while you are installing the wall unit). I am living with that till I get some time to redo the wall unit install. I have to lower it an inch. The unit works great. There are two buttons for number 1 and number 2. It looks fantastic; very modern and clean. I will do this for all new toilets. It helps make the space look more open and larger.Total cost was well under 500. I note what appears to be a complete unit on Amazon but I wasn't sure. I had already bought my frame so I didn't pursue. But I think the complete package was just over 500 in the listing I had found. I spent a lot of time finding lower prices so I would have bought the package had I found it first.Recommended.
