Nokian Extreme 294 Studded Tire, 26 x 2.1-Inch

Very good quality, they are made pretty solid and the weight matches :). I haven't lost any studs yet so that's good. You get crazy good traction in snow, ice, slush, but not so much on dry pavement be careful turning at speed. Off road these things are like tractors with endless grip.

This tire works really well on hard packed snow, but was below expectation on glare ice. I use these tires on icy mountain bike trails and overall they work really well. The traction on glare ice is about the same as riding on mud and the same level of riding care must be used to stay upright. However, in super slick icy places where fat tire bikes were riding right off the trail and crashing, I was carefully riding through. Low air pressure seems to work best.Since writing the initial review above, I have spent more time on these tires on hard packed snow covered trails and they are fantastic! Pretty close to riding on soft dirt. Definitely recommended.

Outstanding tires. Hesitated on getting these as the price is higher than car tires. Get them, roll over ice with greater traction than regular tires on dry pavement and you will see for yourself it was worth it. I use these tires every day for my winter commute in Cleveland Ohio. Clear or messy streets, these tires aim to please.

These tires work as advertised and inspire total confidence on snow and ice. I put them on my MTB turned commuter bike and they've kept me riding through the worst of winter conditions. Love em. If you want to keep spinning all winter and then this is what you want. Only inconvenience is when the ice melts and you have to push these puppies on pavement - decent rolling resistance for sure, but worth it the rest of the time. No lost studs and holding up well after two months of daily riding.

I've used these tires for a few months now...they provide great grip. Before I put these tires on my bike I had a few spills. After I put them in...none. The grip on the ice. If you are tired of slipping and falling these tires are your answer.

These are spectacular, but be sure what you're asking for. These will grip into ice and snow better than any other 2" tire I've ever seen - expect a high resistance and loud ride though.

5-stars just because I can't give it 6. SERIOUS TRACTION!!! You will not be disappointed. I purchased this one because someone stole one of my 1st set. I bought my 1st set and used them for 6 seasons. I can't tell the difference between the new one and the 6 year old one w/o looking very closely. Nokian products are awesome. Getcha some.

tire was purchased as a replacement for 10+ year old Nokian 296.most of my riding is on hilly, snow packed dirt roads in NH,been out a couple of times and tire performs awesome, great tractionin climbs and corners.
