Good Basic Phone
I got this phone for my parents to use as an extension phone upstairs. It is a good basic phone at a low price. When talking /listening it is very clear and I was surprised as I expected the volume to be quite tinny and hollow as a lot of cheaper phones are. The phone is a basic phone with no bells and whistles but does have 2 memory buttons so you can programme 2 important quick dial phone numbers. The phone arrives in 2 pieces you have to connect the phone line to the phone and to the cradle it sits in but that's easy enough. If you're looking for a cheap basic phone this phone would be ideal. To the reviewers complaining that you can't open battery cover - there isn't a battery cover - this phone doesn't require batteries!!!.... there is no display screen it's just a basic phone..... you simply plug into your phone line socket and you're good to go.

Nice for wall or table
The phone is powered by the rj11 port no additional power supply needed.Callers have no issues hearing, the earpiece is a little quiet but for the price this is great and exactly what I needed to make calls from my router. I would not recommend for a load environment such as a store but for home use it's usable. The incoming call ringer cannot but changed. It can be set on high volume or low with the flip of a switch. There is only two volume levels.

Does the job as a backup
Like most people these days I never use a landline, but my Sky package includes a landline connection so I decided to order a basic phone that I could plug in as an emergency back up. It works just fine, and gives me peace of mind!

Awful At Every Level
Let's start with only positive to be balanced; it's light. Now the negatives; you can hardly hear the person you are speaking to and no way to increase the volume, the ringer can not be switched off so if you don't want to be disturbed you have to unplug it, can not be used effectively as a phone on flat surface because it has lugs on it so you have to hold down the unit with one hand and pick up receiver with other had undertaking a sliding upward motion. If you don't do this the phone catches. My advice stay clear poor product.

A tester phone
We have the typical 4 x handset, but had a crackly line. Service provider charge if you call them out and it's your equipment that's at fault. So I bought this to test the line for crackle. Handy to have ... if you still have a landline.
