No Nonsense, High Performance folder
I have been carrying and using this knife every day for 5 months now. It has done every task I put to it, from cutting up cartons to severing roots. The flipper makes it super easy to open one-handed and the solid, removable clip makes it just as easy to replace in your pocket. The downside of this hefty clip is that it interferes with a comfortable grip.... I like the knife so much, I got used to it. There is a sliding button alongside the clip which when engaged, immobilizes the locking spring while the knife is open. It will not engage by itself and can be ignored; But it's always there as an extra safety feature in case of prolonged or very hard use.Weight of this rugged folder is on the heavy side at slightly over 7 Oz.Except for the clip, the handle is highly ergonomic. The G-10 (GMascus) handle scales and grooved, black, stainless steel liners, provide a good grip The striker at the end of the handle is plastic, not steel; But it easily makes dents in hard, butcher-block maple without any sign of damage to itself. I wish I had a disposable car window to test it on. Additionally, the striker area structurally reinforces the back of the handle, making it exceptionally resistant to deformation by hard knocks, abuse, etc.The blade is 154CM martensitic stainless steel, obviously well-tempered and cryogenically treated . I have had no chipping, rolling or other issues. Edge retention is good. The black blade coating does not chip but wears off slowly in hard use. Mine is still mostly black. The blade on my copy still locks up solid as the day I got it.I find the edge easy to touch up or re-sharpen.I have tried other high-end folding knives including several Zero Tolerance models, some with more expensive blade steels. So far, I like this Hogue folder best of all.

Thumbs down. Not way down. But down.
Is ok.Difficult to flip open. Is tight.Extra lock is VERY difficult to move. Trying to break it in gave me a water blister on my thumb. No joke. Is still difficult to open and close the extra lock.Is big, bulky, fat, and heavy. Length is fine. Other dimensions not so much. Is everything I have moved away from in knifes. Will never carry this knife. Have so many better options in my drawer. Which is where this will sit. While I use more practical knives.Oh I do like the basher though. Is nice.If I had a do over I would not buy.

Good knife but.....
While the knife is good, I'm not quite sure the price to value is equal. Don't let the 3 stars dissuade you from from buying, I still like the knife and it is fairly sturdy but, I've bought other knives in this price range that were much nicer. Hope this helps?

Not a knife I would carry
I ordered this knife because I have another Hogue knife that I really like and thought that I would like this one also. It doesn't really feel right when I am holding it. Also it is the worse flipper knife that I have ever owned. I've tried oiling it and loosening the screws to get it to work better but it still will not flip well at all. This is one knife I would not recommend.
