ESP8266 Weather Station: Getting Started Guide Kindle Edition

This is a well written and informative book but its not really a weather 'station', its more of a weather monitor. I expected a weather 'station' to have weather collection devices attached to it. This goes to the internet and provides info from someone elses collection devices.Once I receive my display I will build this for the experience but eventually would like to build my own weather station.

This is a great starter. I'm new to the micro controller scene so like most hobbyists all I need is a nudge in the right direction. This (e)book did just that. For the price of a cheap burger do yourself a favor make a sandwich at home and buy this instead.Any trouble I had was resolved by a little perseverance, common sense and a couple of 'duh' moments. It's a hobby, I don't want this handed to me on a plate.Takes you through a couple of really neat projects, explains what is going on that sort of stuff.Big thumbs up.Reads well on my Kindle, the color diagrams render well in grey scale.

Neat back story on the development of this kit. ESP8266 IoT Starter Kit with OLED display for Arduino IDE - Weather Station - Plane Spotter - World Clock  I highly recommend getting the kit as it will save some time pulling together all the parts, plus you are assured that they will all work together as intended. The directions are easy to follow and the experience will leave you with a good understanding of working in the Arduino IDE with ESP8266 chips as well as working with code libraries. Beginners can easily do this and optional projects and enhancements would make it suitable for intermediate level makers as well.

Daniel does a very good job of instruction on how to implement a NODEMCU. I want to implement the ES01 and have yet to try, but information seems thorough

While covering construction of the weather station (really better described as an internet weather receiver & display) this is a good introductory level book on ESP8266 projects. The tasks and components used in this are useful in many projects. Athens author's blog and website have more information and a good set of "hints and tips" on constructing IOT devices. Hughly recommended.

Interesting book - however, the Kindle edition appears to be damaged. After the "OLED Display" section, the text starts over at the Cover page.I tried deleting and re-downloading the book, but still get the same results. Please fix.

Basically instructions for kit the author sells. But enough detail to put together a quick project with other parts.

This book is more a user guide for folks who have purchased the hardware from the author. The hardware comes with a user guide, so who is this for? My intent was to purchase the book and understand the hardware and software so that I could design the system that works for me. This did not fill my requirements.

Good to have a manual for getting the weather station working without having to go to various web sites for information. Useful set of further projects you can do.

While it's more aimed at his products and how to build and run them, it is a good companion into the world of esp8266

"MÁS").
