The Mendip Karrimor boots received a size 8, I ordered one size larger to allow for walking socks and they fit really well, the one piece upper makes these boots really waterproof, the soles thick but flexible once used, the pre-inserted laces keep the tongue tight and water out.Once unpacked and tried on for size the first job was three layers of Dubbin applied, this left to soak into the leather for 24hrs to aid flexibility and extra waterproofing, one coat of Dubbin then applied after each cleaning session to keep the leather supple.After many walking sessions over the past weeks the boots becoming more comfortable and easier to clean, the leather now flexing without any signs of cracking, the soles easing with every walking session.Karrimor synonymous with walking especially in Wales, these Mendip boots no exeption to that tradition, a good solid boot, well made and watertight.

Bought thes boots for daily dog walks as we like to venture out to muddy areas. The boots are very sturdy and comfortable although, I would recommend changing the insole to a gel sole for improved comfort, especially on long hikes! The boots are waterproof and fast drying. Easy to clean and maintain. I like how sturdy they look and feel on my feet, no more ankle injuries for me!

Wore to walk dog straight out of box, comfortable foot wise - am size 7, ordered size 7 and fit well. Would have given 5 stars as up to now they are waterproof and generally comfortable. However, the laces are a bit too short, especially for arthritic fingers and difficult to pull tight (they are stretching the more I am using them but not by much); the ankle part of the boot is quite firm. It's fine now but initially I found it a bit uncomfortable and restrictive - now, that could be because when we eventually cave in and buy new footwear, it's usually because the old footwear has had it! Obviously, one's old footwear has become nice and moulded to our feet and is 'comfy'. So the stiffness around the ankle is likely, in part, due to that.Considering that they are worn daily - fields, beach, the odd hill (I live in south Essex and we don't have many!), they are doing well and I would buy them again.

I tried to replace my old Hi Gear boots and it was a case of third time lucky with these boots. My old boots had 7 hooks/holes and therefore supported my skiny ankles. The other boots I tried were either too rigid and instantly uncomfortable so I had to send them back (I am not someone that is prepared to go through hell to wear in boots as I dog walk twice a day) or they only had five or six holes/hooks so there was too much space around the ankle to be properly supportive. I have only had these boots a few days but done several walks and they are instantly comfortable, light to wear, very strong and sturdy and fit well. Happy days!

I bought the 5's which come up a little big (which I expected, being a 4 1/2) but I just double up on socks, and they fit perfectly. Nice and sturdy, so they support the ankles, look a little like classic Timerland's, and are very durable. The only thing I would say is that you need to stay on top of re-proofing them, as I don't think they're going to be forgiving if you don't look after them, but that's like anything made of natural materials I suppose. Highly recommended, would buy again.

I buy a pair of these every year as I work outdoors and they're worn 5-6 hours a day. They are quite wide and roomy, I have wide feet (EE) and these are my go to boots. I do clean them with Dubbin occassionally which helps keep them waterproof but I do find by towards the end of the year when they're getting fairly worn they aren't as waterproof as when new. Really good value, I rarely have to replace the laces although I do save the laces from the previous years pair. Not sure how they'd be for serious hikers/walkers but they're fine for winter walks and work in all weathers all year.

Having only worn them for three days and not getting a leak or a squeak out of them is a good sign so far.They are sturdy and do well where I live as once it rains, it can be a very wet place.Looking after them is easy but finding a water based weatherproofing is difficult since it has no recommendations on the information tag.One minor annoyance are the double hooks they do the job well but mine seem reluctant to hook onto the lace (possibly narrowed a little too much) and I spend time attempting to hook my laces before dog walks.Other than that, they're waterproof, sturdy, and I hope this "weathertite" holds out for years to come.

Bought for dog walking in May 2023.When they arrived, they looked sturdy and easy to clean.They took some breaking in but after maybe a month, they were comfy.Sadly, after around 8 or 9 months, I started to notice damp toes during morning walks in long grass - and then the gap between the toe and upper started to show.... and widen. These are now being used occasionally when it's dry ( so - not very often in UK 😆). I know you get what you pay for but I expected better from this brand. I threw out my other (more expensive) Karrimor boots yesterday - they were the suede type and had ripped - but they had been battered since Christmas 2008! Yes - 2008.So, for the new boots to fail in less than a year is really disappointing.Maybe a pair of wellies next time?

Wie der meine Knöcheln schützt, so bequem. Frau vergiss eigentlich, dass sie etwas an den Füßen hat und wandert, und wandert. Das ist kein Schuh für ganz schmale Füße, sondern eher für normale bis mittelgroße Füße. Ich eine Einlage hingelegt plus gute Wandernsocken dazu und BÄMMM läuft. Klare Kaufempfehlung, da die Qualität stimmt.

I use them for walking my dog in the woods, in a rather wet winter climate. I am fully satisfied (they are my second pair in ten years). I have difficult and sensitive feet.
