Works better then the original one. I haven't had an issue with water getting in it!!

For what it is it's expensive. It works but there is no mounting bracket. There is mounting hardware provided but the hardware is too short to be useful. There is a part included that will adapt the antenna to 1"-14 female thread so you can buy a separate antenna mounting solution. I just used double sided tape.

this started off working good and i went out one day and it didn't work after looking at the board the water has gotten into the unit and has caused it to fail it took out 2 diodes and one of the 35k res. this is not worth the money and i have all of my radios marine and Ham in standard horizon and have not had one problem with any of them but the smart antenna is total crap do not waste your money on it, it will go out after a year or so.

My cp1000 quit working. Took the unit to a buddy that had the same one in his b oat and hoked up to his antenna, and it worked fine. Was about to send the unit in for repair, when in fact it was the antenna. Got the new one, and hooked it up before pulling wires throughout the boat, and it aquired position in about 10 seconds. Completed installation, and it worked great. I think they are overpriced for what they are, reason for the 4 stars instead of 5 stars.As for the vendor, they had the best price, and shipped promptly.

corrected a connect problem with a 1000. Satellites now come up quicker. These apparently go bad after awhile. Who'd a thunk.

Super fast GPS acquisition, takes about 5 seconds to lock on and give accurate position fix. Easy fitting with the 3x3mm stainless screws included - I had to buy some longer ones to get through the fiberglass of my cockpit, easy from the local hardware store even here in Grand Cayman!
