Time gentlemen please
This is a great 38mm dial watch with a comfortable strap. Yes, the ticking is pronounced in a library, empty room, funeral parlour etc, but the watch is also very legible, has the superb Indiglo feature and is very comfortable on wrist. It is an ideal watch for any chap or chapess who needs a simple, stylishly elegant watch that is discreet and goes with any casual outfit. The Timex Weekender is a great watch at a a very decent price and I would definitely recommend it.

Good watch
This is a nice, sporty-looking watch. The backlight was a bonus, and though I don't wear my watch in the dark as a rule I'll come clean - I like playing with it. The watch is easy to read, and has useful 24-hour markings on the dial - a handy feature for me as I live in a country where they use the 24 hour clock a lot, and it's easy to get confused. It's very quiet. Oh - I have a small wrist, I guess, as the strap is a bit long but I just tuck it back through the first loop and it stays put, no problem. There are plenty of holes in the strap so you'll be able to adjust it to fit. Very pleased.

A gift, but mum loves it.
Hard to really write a review given that it was a present for my mum's birthday some time ago, but I'll try and summarise her thoughts on it here. It's easy to read and has a nice comfortable strap, though both her and I agreed said strap feels kinda cheap and flimsy. The build quality is rather nice though it eschews stainless steel for a cheaper chrome plated brass construction alongside a mineral glass crystal. I suppose at this price point that could be the best you'll get. I'm a bit disappointed at the 30 metre water resistance rating for the price (I paid about ยฃ50) but that doesn't matter to her. It's up to you whether that matters or not.The Indiglo backlight is honestly the best part of this thing in my opinion. It evenly lights up the entire watch face (save for the outer bezel where the second markers are) and my mum loves it.The only major criticism we both have is that it's loud. The ticking is so loud that mum can hear it across her bedroom at night and she has to put it in a drawer. It seems that's just how it is with the Weekenders.Overall? Yeah, I think it's great and mum does too. They're great presents. Sure, the chrome plated brass will wear away faster than stainless steel (or even resin, I suppose) but it looks good and I think for ยฃ50 it's worth it.

Everyone should own a Timex Weekender.
This is my second Time Weekender. The battery on my fist one lasted for about 6 years and I ended up breaking the watch when I replaced the battery myself rather than taking it in to be die professionally. Totally my fault as I was too heavy handed clipping the case-back on. Bought an identical one as I loved it so much and put it on a black & grey NATO strap. I own a number of watches and my wife suggested getting something different as Iโd already had a Weekender. The fact that Iโd already owned a Weekender was the exact reason that I wanted another. Went for the identical model with the black face but I think they all look great. The Indiglo feature is fantastic. They take a licking but keep on ticking (quite loudly). You wonโt regret buying one of these.

Good Reliable Time
For people that don't know, this watch has a famously loud ticking noise, if you don't like that then don't buy it. but it is a classic to wear and I love wearing it. Simple and elegant. If you do buy this, being in a silent room with it (such as when you are trying to sleep) might get annoying, but I have a watch storage box that I keep it in when I am not wearing it so the ticking can't be heard.

Smart and comfortable watch
I was looking for a reasonably priced watch that was smart enough to wear for work but that didn't look too "flash". This one fits the bill perfectly. The case is actually much shinier than in the picture, where it looks almost matte, but I personally think it looks very attractive and a nice contrast with the black face and strap. The Indiglo feature works very well, lighting up the entire face of the watch, leaving the numerals and hands as shadows. The strap is made of what seems like good quality nylon webbing with soft edges that don't chaff. It's also a fairly thin strap but the holes for the buckle look like they've been heat sealed so hopefully won't enlarge too easily. Another nice feature is that being a "slip-though" strap it covers a large park of the back of the watch and acts as a buffer so the metal isn't pressed against the skin, which I find much more comfortable. So far the watch seems to have good time compared to an "atomic clock" webpage I use to test my timepieces against with no perceptible difference after over a day.I'm taking one star off because I find the strap to be slightly too short for me to feel it is totally secure. I have large wrists but need to use the last or (at a stretch) the last-but-one hole in the strap. This doesn't leave too much extra strap and it only just passes through the first of the two keeper rings. For reference my strap is approximately 233mm (not including buckle). As I say, my wrists are fairly large and at least the strap is very easy to change. I plan to replace mine with a "NATO" or RAF style fabric strap which are widely available. In the meantime I've not had any issues with the supplied one coming loose and the feel of it is very comfortable.

The Strap is great for sensitive skin
Purchased for my lad as rubber straps give him a rash and he needed a new watch. I must confess Iโve been impressed, it looks great and tells the time as a watch should. Itโs important that he has an analogue so he can tell the time when older as digital means many canโtโฆ So for that we picked this. It looks cool, so Iโm told, and he loves it. So top marks. Also worn it swimming with no issues.

Good watch to buy if you are looking for a 38 mm field watch at this price.
Indiglo feature is superb and helpful in dark. Good quality. The watch hands shown in the product images are white but in real they are silver but it looks nice, matches the outer case. Straps are also good. Some reviews say that they got extra straps but I did not. 38 mm field watches are not easy to find at this price.
