American Health Probiotic Acidophilus, Plain, 16 Ounce

I believe this product received a very unfair review strictly based on taste. I just received this bottle this week and I have to say, the Blueberry is much better than the banana! It's also important to keep this in the fridge after you open it.My naturopath doctor has me on this and about 3 other probiotic/flora supplements along with colostrum to treat both acid reflux and IBS. I'm grateful to have found this on Amazon because his markup is at least 50%. The important thing about taking a probiotic in liquid form is that sometimes it is important to have the beneficial bacteria colonize in the stomach and even esophagus. Capsules are meant to become available further down the GI tract to make your colon happy. I'm finding that with the use of a good digestive enzyme and this liquid probiotic, I've been able to go off my proton pump inhibitor (PPI's like Prilosec and Nexium) which has given me stomach polyps from prolonged use.The theory is that regular use of anti-biotics, the stomach and intestines can become out of balance and unable to function naturally due to a lack of good bacteria.It's important to take aloe vera juice regularly(3x/day in between meals) to heal the esophagus and stomach. That in conjunction with a product like this can get you on the path to healing. I no longer have chest pain and I can also digest dairy. Amazing!A final thing about this. Some probiotics are designed so that you rely on them. The bacteria in them will not live longer than a day. I believe that this product is designed to actually grow and colonize to the point where you will not need it again after 3-4 months of use. The only time you would need it again is after taking an anti-biotic.Good luck and keep an open mind.

I only gave 3 stars because of the best by date says 04/2020. I just received on the 28th, bummer, I will try to finish it. I can do the taste, it reminded me of milk of magnesium but taste way better. Make sure to shake really well like it states.

Fine product, it doesn't taste bad to me. You can mix it with a small amount of OJ to totally mask the taste. However, it's extremely thick. I thought it would be a runny liquid when I bought it. It makes it harder to measure out but it's not a deal breaker.

Este producto tiene un sabor horrible, no pude tolerarlo, no podía sacarlo de la botella, por más que lo agitara, estaba pegado a la botella, cuando lo lograba salía en grumos,solamente lo probé una vez y me dió nauseas y el aspecto era feo, ademàs dice ser vegetariano y tiene leche, me cayó mal al estómago, ningún producto vegetariano tiene leche, es un anuncio engañoso, llevo años comprando en Amazon y nunca me sentí tan decepcionada con una compra, soy clienta activa. Solicito la devolución de mi dinero a mi tarjeta de Amazon, ya que el producto lo tuve que tirar a la basura.y no quiero perder mi dinero. Espero su pronta atención en este problema. Gracias

I have taken this many times, you can tell they it really has a great number of good bacteria.stomach issues get better after some days of taking.I would start slowly, maybe 1/4 of the dose that is listed, other wise you may get bloated.enjoy

The only problem is trying to get it. It seems to be out of stock often.

Yes this is The One. I have no idea why but after decades of using acidophilus in capsules, powder and liquids, this one works best for me. I drink it in large quantities a few times a day with food when I want to re-bacterialize. This liquid form, either plain or in milk solution, seems to normalize the intestinal channel in just several days. I don't take it often, just when I feel like something in the channel isn't working right.

This probiotic is the best. It truly help digest anything. I can’t wheat with out my skin braking out, but by taking this after eat wheat I don’t brake out with my eczema. I would recommend it for this purpose.

I am not sure hence 3 stars. Product tasted more like a mild yoghurt. Didn't feel there is any strength in terms of probiotics. Used the whole bottle, don't think I will purchase another one. There are better probiotics on the market with actual results.

This item was held up in the post for a few days, and when I finally got hold of it, it had turned and tasted vile! A waste of money frankly, so switched to another product instead now.

Very difficult to open the bottle top but other than that, fantastic.

I was looking forward to trying this product. However when I received this (16th Feb), the best before date was January 2020.

This is the second bottle I have bought and had to return because it's already passed it's best buy date.Really disappointed.
