Impressively small despite having a large full-frame sensor, the Canon EOS RP offers flexible imaging capabilities along with a portable form factor. Featuring a high-resolution 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor along with a DIGIC 8 image processor, both stills and UHD 4K video can be recorded using a broad sensitivity range, from ISO 100-40000, to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. Continuous shooting is also supported at up to 5 fps for photographing moving subjects. The sensor also facilitates an advanced Dual Pixel CMOS AF system, with 4779 selectable on-sensor phase-detection points for quickly and accurately acquiring focus during stills and video operation. Complementing the sensor and processor, the RP also sports a 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder along with a rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot vari-angle touchscreen LCD monitor for easier viewing from high and low angles. Additionally, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth allow for wireless remote camera control along with direct image sharing to linked mobile devices. Canon RF Lens Mount The EOS RP features the RF lens mount, which support Canon's line of RF-mount lenses. This mount is characterized by its wide 54mm diameter and short 20mm flange-back distance, which promotes the ability to design lenses that are both faster and smaller than their SLR equivalents. The mount also incorporates a 12-pin electronic contact system for more sophisticated autofocus and image stabilization capabilities. This mount design also lends full compatibility to existing EF and EF-S-mount lenses via an optional EF-EOS R Mount Adapter. 26.2MP Full-Frame CMOS Sensor and DIGIC 8 Image Processor A large 26.2MP full-frame CMOS sensor is featured and serves as an ideal balance between high-resolution output, low-light performance, and high-speed capabilities. When paired with the DIGIC 8 image processor, the EOS RP has a wide native sensitivity range from ISO 100-40000 for working in a variety of lighting conditions. Additionally, continuous shooting up to 5 fps is possible for working with moving subjects. Dual Pixel CMOS AF Dual Pixel CMOS AF offers smooth and fast focusing performance in a similar manner to how a camcorder acquires focus. This system integrates two separate photodiodes within each pixel to provide a broad and dense network phase-detection gathering elements across a majority of the image sensor to reduce focus hunting for faster, more direct control of focus placement. When working with still imagery, this focusing system works to acquire focus quickly and accurately, making it ideally suited to shooting and tracking moving subjects so that critical focus is attained with each shot. When shooting video, a Movie Servo AF mode offers smooth and natural focusing when changing from different subjects or different distances within the scene, as well as the ability to specify tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and Face or Eye Tracking priority. Benefited by the Touch AF system, rack focus is possible simply by touching elements within the scene on the touchscreen in order to change focus in an intuitive manner. Subject tracking in movies is also heightened due to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system's ability to recognize subjects and maintain focus when working within changing or cluttered scenery. Additionally, the focus system is sensitive down to EV -5 for working in truly low-light conditions with accurate AF capabilities. UHD 4K Video Recording Designed for multimedia image-maker, the EOS RP supports UHD 4K (3840 x 2160) resolution recording at up to 23.98 fps at 120 Mb/s, along with Full HD 1080p and HD 720p at 60 fps for slow motion playback. When recording in-camera, 4K video has 4:2:0 sampling and 8-bit color depth, and 4:2:2 8-bit output is possible when using an external recorder. Audio can be recorded using the on-board stereo microphone or an optional external mic can also be used via the 3.5mm mic jack. Also, 5-axis Dual Sensing IS can be used when recording video to electronically reduce the appearance of camera shake for sharper, smoother recording. Body Design Integrated 2.36m-dot OLED electronic viewfinder affords a bright and clear means for eye-level viewing. Rear 3.0" 1.04m-dot LCD features a vari-angle design for easier use when working from high, low, and front-facing angles. It is also a touchscreen for intuitive control over shooting, playback, and menu navigation controls. Built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity enable wireless sharing, control, and image transfer with a compatible smart device via the Canon Camera Connect app, which also supports geotagging your files using your mobile device's location data. In-camera charging over USB is supported for easier on-the-go charging. RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM Lens Included with the camera body is the compact and flexible RF 24-105mm f/4-7.1 IS STM lens; a standard zoom covering wide-angle to short telephoto focal lengths with a variable maximum aperture that helps to maintain an impressively sleek form factor. Complementing the versatile design is a unique Center Macro Focus position, which enables working with close-up subjects at a 1:2 maximum magnification ratio, and an Optical Image Stabilizer also helps to achieve sharp imagery by minimizing the appearance of camera shake. Also, an STM motor affords impressively quiet and smooth autofocus performance and full-time manual focus override. Additionally, a configurable Control Ring lets you adjust exposure settings, including ISO, aperture, and exposure compensation, from the lens itself.

RP entry level full frame mirror less camera.
Coming from the ASP-C sensor on the Canon T7i the the full frame sensor on the RP is a big change. The pictur quality is much better an I get much better bokeh on my portraits using the same lenses. The RF 24-105 lens that comes with the kit is great. It nice to get a pro grad L series lens with an entry level camera. It does make the kit cost a lot more but you would easily pay $200-300 more to get this lense separate. This kit comes with the EF lens adapter which is nice. It gives you the ability to use any existing EF or EF-S lenses you have. I did a side by side comparison of the lenses with th RP and My T7i and the photos with my EF-S lenses were better on the RP. The only thing is I wish they would of included the control ring adapter because once you start using it you want all your lenses to have it.If you are looking for a good entry level full frame camera the the RP is definitely one to consider. I think it is a great camera for all around shooting. It does have some drawbacks where speed is concerned. It has a rather slow rate of 4 frames per second so it’s not a camera you would use if you are a sports photographer. But if you are looking for an all around travel camera then I would say the RP is the right choice.

Great transition camera from cropped to Full Frame
Coming from a Canon 7d, a 1D MkII, and a D60 before that (over the course of 18 years). Autofocus speed and options are outstanding. I was a little worried about the EVF vs an optical VF, but that’s been a non-issue.I love the full-frame sensor. Picture quality is outstanding, better than I would have hoped. Noise is minimal even at higher ISO ranges. The automatic / scene modes are interesting, but I haven’t explored them enough to determine if I’d use them. HDR mode produces decent results, but I would have liked it to be easier to engage (more like the toggle on an iPhone). The 24-105L lens is lovely. I’ve typically used a combo of a 17-40L and 70-200 IS L. While the new lens clearly doesn’t reach quite as far (especially the effective distance given the move from 1.6 to FF), I can see leaving the 24-105 on by default and using the others less frequently. The kit includes the EF adapter, which does allow me to use the other lenses (huge selling point for The RF), and it too works well.Overall very pleased with the camera, and am looking forward to some heavier work with it soon.

Lightweight, good quality, excellent images, video features below average but not bad.
This camera is a keeper. While I picked it up because I wanted a full frame camera, I also wanted a lighter camera because of weight restrictions when traveling and carrying it through the back country. The attached images were straight from the camera’s jpeg engine, so I haven’t had a chance to do any post-processing on the raw files. These were just some quick images taken with the basic automatic settings, but if you are familiar with SLR photography, you have complete control. Videography is lacking with this camera compared to others, but is decent; so if video is important to you, look elsewhere; however, if you want to take the occasional quick video clip, this will be fine. Wish you could get a battery grip extender, but the grip extender has no place for batteries. I found the battery would last for a day of shooting ~600 pictures.

Don’t pay attention to all the hate
I upgraded from a Canon SL2 to this Canon EOS RP and I love it. The bundle is great. The camera is great. I did a lot of research before my purchase. You’ll find a ton of hate online because this camera has lackluster video features but as someone who doesn’t shoot a lot of video that didn’t matter to me. The picture quality is amazing with the RF lens.

Fantastic camera for an aspiring photographer.
Love the camera. Does all I need and more. Great for beginners who want to grow and more experienced, that are not professional photographers. The camera and RF adapter are perfect! The rest of the kit other than the memory cards is pretty useless.

Great bundle, great price!
You get so much for such a great price! I bought this for my boyfriend and thought it was a little sketchy considering how much you get for such a low price. But it’s legit, all of it! And my boyfriend loves it!
