Good boat, bad advertising
The product itself is 4-stars, with 1 star removed because of false-advertising. The picture of the girl happily strapping this onto her shoulder is complete BS. This thing weighs around 70 lbs! There's another picture of 3 people on the sailboat at the same time. Maybe that's possible for a photo shoot, but realistically you won't be able to take 3 people out on this.Aside from that, the product is very fun. My 7-year-old son and I took it out this weekend. We had a lot of fun. It sails ok when there's enough wind. We flipped over once with a bad combination of wind, a strong wave and me switching to the wrong side. Luckily, we had life vests and my son and I were able to swim to shore. (Wear your life vests!)The instructions are very well written. It's in proper English, so you won't misinterpret them. Each step clearly explains what you are to do in that step, then explains how to do it. The pictures were also helpful. Some reviewer said that the instructions were too detailed. I very much appreciated that detail, and I think most reasonable people would, too! With that said, after you do it once, it seems fairly easy to do it again without the instructions.Drying it off and packing it up was straightforward, too. There's a good chance of getting water inside the air bladders, so it's best to let the air out away from the water. It also helps to let it dry with most of the air inside. The outer shell that covers the air bladders can get water trapped inside. So, you will want to lift it from the front end to let the water drain out the holes near the back. The wheeled container that it comes with is useful. It is big, though, so keep that in mind when wondering if it will fit in your car! In our mid-sized SUV, we had to drop a back seat to get it to fit. The bag won't fit in our sports car, but all the parts will fit if you refold the boat appropriately.

Awesome sail boat
This is a 4 in one equipment: it can function as a sailboat, windsurfing board, kayak or mattress. I used it as sailboat and windsurfing board. It is pretty easy to assemble. It takes about 15 minutes to put it together - inflating the mattress, putting the mast and the keels. First time thought it can take you two hours or more, until you figure out how everything works. The instructions are too detailed and it takes time to read everything and make sure you followed them properly. A lot of things are obvious. As a sailboat it is pretty easy to drive. The sail itself gets tied up at the back of the mattress so you only take care of the rudder. This is the easiest sailboat ever. It easily holds two adults. My friends were very impressed. One thing to be cautious is a combination of high wind and high waves. In high wind when you jibe, make sure you quickly switch on the opposite side from the sail - basically on the side where the wind is coming from. The wind might be strong enough to tip over the entire boat if you sit on the wrong side. The aluminum mast is light and strong for the force of the wind, but not strong enough if the waves capsize the boat, turn it over and the mast hits the ocean (lake) floor. My mast broke down, the middle segment was twisted and ripped apart. I have to order new aluminum pipes now. Always wear a PFD when using this equipment. The wind can easily take you far from the shore and if your boat capsizes a PFD is a life saver. As a beginner windsurfing board I only used it two times. It is hard to stand on it, and it is easy to lose balance. But it is a lot of fun. Using only the sail you can steer the boat any direction you want.Although I did not use it as a kayak, I always took a paddle from a normal kayak with me when I use it as a sail boat, just in case. The paddle from a normal kayak seemed to be too short to easily paddle on either side so I guess in order to use it as a kayak you need a much longer paddle.Overall it is a great equipment, you can have a lot of fun and it is the easiest sailboat ever. It can give you a sailing experience a much cheaper price than buying a normal sail boat. It is a great equipment to have it on the beach. Again be aware when using this equipment: always were a PFD. In high wind it can easily capsize and a PFD is a life saver.

What a disappointment!
Please be very careful if you decide to buy this product. The only way to tell if it is for you is to set it up and stick it in the lake. The problem is that at that point, it is no longer in "brand new condition" and you cannot send it back. I first set it up at home inside and the assembly and instructions were just OK. The issue concerning how much air to put in is very important in that too much and there is no way to clip the forestay to the pad eye. You then have to start letting air out until you can get the forestay attached. The same goes for the keel and rudder. You have to guess how much air to put in it. So, inside in controlled conditions, the assembly is clumsy but doable. I will lay money that this is where the assembly instructions were written rather than lake side.At the lake is a whole different story. I took it out to the lake in 10mph (a fairly light breeze) and fought it tooth and nail to get assembled. You need to essentially reverse the order of assembly to get it together and spend a fair amount of time putting air in and out of it trying to get it right. I finally was able to get it assembled, but was really disappointed that a fun day at the lake had turned into full combat. Once I figured out a totally new assembly order, I jumped on and took off only to discover that, in spite of repositioning my body, the sailboat/raft would skitter sideways when trying to change tack. It loved to jibe, but given it is so light in the water it also loved to plow sideways, blow over, and otherwise misbehave, though like I said above, it particularly refused to swing through the wind to change tack. In my opinion, it lacks the ability to truly to tack. Maybe if the wind was less than 5 mph or so it might, but at a certain point, maybe I should just paddle the raft. In short, I felt like I was wrestling a steer for a few hours. People on the dock watching had a good laugh.According to the guidelines, I can't discuss the biggest issue of buying this product so now I too am stuck with a very expensive raft that promised so much more but failed miserably. If you want to do a little sailing, I would strongly suggest you avoid this hybrid junk and save your money to buy something real.

Nice product! Setup was quick and easy for sailing
Update! I am very happy with this little boat! I have sailed in many different conditions on several lakes around the country and even taken with me on the air plane! After changes to the rigging for better control it is performing well as a sailboat. Added LED light for night sailing. Next mod is a jib.Nice product! Setup was quick and easy for sailing. While you wait on your delivery download and read the manual from Aquaglide it will help. I am an experienced sailor so sailing it was not a problem. It sails well in 10+ knots of wind however as the wind drops performance drops quickly and has leaward issues. In light wind you should stay close to shore and have a oar with you in case the wind dies. The rigging is simple but adjustments to the main sheet is limited and difficult while underway. I see modification to the main sheet in the future. As a kayak this product falls way short! It tracks well but is way to wide to paddle it comfortably. I purchased the kayak kit as well. The seat works fine for a smaller or thinner person. The included oars are a joke and are not for kayaking. Normal kayak paddles are not long enough for the width of this boat. I have not tried it as a wind surfer yet but I expect it will again needed a good breeze to preform well. If you are not a sailor please don't stray to far from shore until you learn how wind angles work with boat and stay away from currents. If your a experienced sailor you will enjoy this little boat and will start thinking about mods to the rigging right away. Bottom line is this is a good well made product but is over priced. I bought a warehouse deal at about $450.00 and I am happy with it at that price.

Awesome!!
Putting it together for the first time was a small challenge for me but I got it done. I'm not very mechanically inclined so assembly would be much easier for others. The boat sails great and I'm learning how to gauge the wind. For a beginning sailor this boat is totally awesome. Worth every penny. I only use it as a sailboat as that's all I'm interested in, and as a sailboat I totally love it. I've used it twice so far and I can already assemble it in about 15 minutes right at the shore of the lake. Big big fun. These things are probably going to be popping up all over the place at lakes all over the nation.

Sails great!
The media could not be loaded. This is a great little sailboat! I bought it for our week-long vacation in Ocean City, New Jersey, and used it almost every day. I decided to write this review because I found conflicting reviews online. Some people loved it, other hated it. I found out that this company made a prior model of this boat that was generally inferior, in terms of design and quality. I think some of the negative reviews are of the prior model, and not this model. Here's my take:SETUP & ASSEMBLY:The first time assembling it can be a little confusing. It took me about an hour the first time, but most of the rigging can be left in place after the initial setup, unless you plan to use it as something other than a sailboat. I only want to use it as a sailboat, so my will stay partially rigged.Setting it up now only take me about 20 minutes, which includes about 10 minutes of inflating. During my vacation, I just left it inflated and carried (with the help of a friend) down to the water each day with the sail, rigging, keel and rudder laying on top. I then completed the final assembly down by the water. We had a beach front house, so the distance wasn't that far. If it was further, I probably would have had to deflate it each day.The instructions are clear and well written. They include high-resolution (although black and white) photographs of each step. I really don't understand the reviews that complain about the instructions, since I found them more than adequate. Perhaps those reviews were in reference to the prior model mentioned above? In any event, the setup and assembly are easy once you do it once or twice. As other reviews noted, it's probably best to inflate it partway, insert the keel and rudder post, and then finish inflating it. The important part is to make sure that the holes for the keel and rudder post are lined up probably, as more thoroughly explained, below.BUILD QUALITY:I was definitely impressed with how well made this thing is. Everything is heavy-duty and seems like it's made to last. I do have some wear and tear on the bottom from where the rudder post and keel posts go through the hull. I think that's from not having it lined up properly in the first place. The hull consists of an exterior cover and an interior bladder. There are holes for the rudder posts and the keel posts that must be lined up on both. Mine weren't the first few times I took it out. As a result, the rudder post was not perfectly perpendicular to the hull and caused the rudder to rub against the underside of the hull cover, causing some wear. The same thing occurred around the area where the keel gets inserted. Also, some of the stitching in those areas has worn away. I think it will be fine in the long term though. The other components seem top-notch. The sail is made of real sail material, the straps and rigging seem rugged, and the mast seems more than adequate.Overall, the quality seems quite good.SAILING ABILITY:This is probably the most important aspect. I found it sailed very well. Surprisingly well. I wasn't expecting much given the small sail area and hull design, but I was wow'ed several times. I ended up sailing in the ocean almost every day of my vacation and, at one point, made a 2.3 mile round trip down the beach and back. I forget my timing, but I figured out that I averaged 4.6 knots, which is pretty good. I think the wind was blowing at about 12 to 15 knots, and the swells were minimal. So in decent wind and minimal waves, this thing moves. In lighter winds though, it doesn't do as well. I would say you need at least 10 knots of wind for this things to sail. Probably less on a lake or protected area, but in the ocean, with currents, waves and tides, it was a struggle to go anywhere in less than 10 knots of wind.I've added a video of one of my sails. You can see the boat is really moving.Overall, this thing sails surprisingly well. Keep in mind thought, it has a relatively small sail area, and a less-than-ideal hull shape, so don't expect any miracles. It definitely keep me entertained each day and made me think I got my money's worth.OTHER THOUGHTS:I'm impressed with this boat. It's relatively inexpensive and convenient, since you can store it in the included storage bag, put it on top of your car, etc. You don't need a trailer or a boat ramp to launch it.In its bag, it is big and heavy. I could carry it by myself for a limited distance, but forget about lugging this thing any significant distances. The bag does have wheels though, which make it super easy to tote as long as there is pavement available. The main sheet is attached to the hull with a type of bungee cord. It's designed so you don't really have to adjust the main sheet. I didn't like this idea at first, and I thought about replacing it with a main sheet block and cam cleat, but after using it, I have to say that it works pretty well. You can make minor adjustments by loosening or tightening the strap that connects the bungee cord part to the hull, but you can't adjust it like you would a traditional main sheet. Overall though, the design works well though and I think replacing it with a block/cleat would be a waste of money.Overall, I'm happy with my purchase and can't wait to get out there and sail some more!

Great multitasker!
So, where should I start with this review? Building this wa,s on a scale of 1 - 5 with 5 at the hardest, a total 5. It was complicated and the users manual wasn't so clear. Then when I started, the manual said not to over inflate the boat, so I went out and the sail wouldn't stay up.I was towed back to shore and followed instinct in inflating it to what felt right, and this thing was amazing. It would sail very nicely even in little wind. Rudder control was sensitive, but this can be solved by tightening the stern strap. It was definitely worth the hassle to discover how it works, I look forward to try windsurfing, towing, and kayaking in it next
