Perfect Bluetooth for the ATH-M50x
A really excellent add-on to the Audio Technica monitors. Everything works intuitively and well. Battery life is great, and charges quickly. I use at work, and it’s auto-shutoff to conserve battery life is wonderful. If you are the kind of audiophile that cares, there can be a slight white hiss when gaming, as it’s looking for sound actively. Otherwise, it’s clarity when there is music or environmental game noise is exceptional. Definitely recommend getting this.

Sounds great with excellent battery....but quit working after 2 weeks of use
Excitedly, I purchased this to make what is an already awesome set of headphones even better! The product looks and feels great, clicks in to the headphone jack securely and most importantly, HAD great battery life!Notice i wrote 'HAD'? It is unfortunate that after only 2 weeks on use..this product has died on me..It currently still pairs with my computer and phone perfectly fine.....However, only if plugged into a USB powersource...the minute it is unplugged from power, the device dies. So much for wireless headphones. Was hoping the 2nd iteration of the East Brooklyn Labs M50x bluetooth adapter would be much improved, but I guess not. Expensive Junk product. Will be returning.

Decent Bluetooth headPHONES, awful as a headset
I returned this adapter shortly after trying it for two reasons.1. They are extremely difficult to remove once they are attached to the ATH-M50x (fixed in V2). This might not be that big of a deal if the sound quality was on par with wired connections, but it most certainly is not so you're going to want to switch back and forth.2. There are essentially two devices - a stereo Bluetooth receiver, and a mono Bluetooth transceiver. To elaborate, you cannot use the microphone AND get high quality stereo sound. This review is based on my usage with a PC. I replaced this with the V2 of the same product which shares some of the same limitations. Since I've had more time with the 2nd version I've realized that it works much better with my Android phone that using the drivers on Windows or Linux. It's likely that this is also true for this version, but I was very upset with the quality on the PC and returned it right away.I cannot review the battery life, I returned it before the battery died. The second version lasts long enough that it made it through a full day of semi-frequent use. That version claims better battery life, so this might be a little less.I will point out that the second version DOES NOT have a boom mic which is one of the problems I encountered; the mic volume is very low (on V2). It's quite possible that this will be clearer than V2 for the other person on the call since you can reposition the mic.It is a neat idea, and it works well for podcasts - that's what I'm using version 2 for at the moment. However, since it's designed as an add on for a fairly decent pair of headphones (ATH-M50x) the expectations for audio quality is higher than the average Bluetooth adapter. Bluetooth is not ideal for lossless audio - it's actually impossible. So some loss is expected. I was mainly interested in using my headphones for 2-way communication, but since there's so much loss of audio quality it isn't worth the cost (in my opinion). I really wanted to love it, but it doesn't fit my needs. If you mainly want to get rid of a wire, the style works well with the headphones and it's a decent receiver.

Decent sound, awful battery
For music listening, this works great, decent audio quality, good BT distance coverage. For using it as a headset, there's a caveat, it only works in mono mode.At least for me that's not a problem since I don't use it to play, only for phone calls, and for that works very well with its detachable mic.My only big complaint is the battery, which was barely OK at first, and super quickly degraded into "almost unusable" in just 4 months of very light usage.

Fantastic product with unrivaled customer support
As everything is moving towards a wireless future, I was disappointed to think I might have to leave my M50x's in the past. Thankfully not only does this adapter solve that problem, but it also enables me to use the headphones for gaming due to the microphone which does have decent audio quality. The BAL-Pro50x is easy to install and setup, and the customer support from East Brooklyn Labs is unrivaled. Not only were they super quick to respond to my issue, but they did everything in their power to help resolve it. Without a doubt I will be looking to them in the future should I need another product they offer.

Improved but not perfect.
The sound quality drops if you are using the microphone and listening to your game at the same time. Which is not a good thing. I didn't buy these for the microphone though. I bought them to listen to music on my phone. They do seem to have better battery life and better range, however I can't help but feel like the quality could be better. I don't know if a software update is possible which could fix some of the limitations. I'm pretty sure the Bluetooth 5.0 spec supports full stereo high quality sound sound while using the microphone. I tested the headset with a Google Pixel XL, iPhone 8+, Windows desktop with Bluetooth 4.0. They all worked but I could never get high quality audio while using the microphone. The headphones also have an annoying idle time, if you don't play something for a few minutes they turn off which requires you to flip the switch back and forth. I assume they did this to save on battery life. The adapter locks on really tight. Make sure you pull while having a good grip on the speaker enclosure and do NOT pull from the head strap. So if you don't plan on using the microphone and primarily intend to just listen to music then these are great. I would not recommend them for basic computer use as the idle shut off is too annoying.

Not ready for any consumer, it needs to be improved before being bought by anyone.
I owned it for a total of 8 hours, the sound went from ok to terrible in 3 hours. I tried to take it off to charge it off the m50x, but it is painfully hard to take it off the headset. I felt like I’d need to rip the left earpiece clean off just to return it. After hours of struggling to get it off carefully, I finally got it off with a little damage to my earphones. And the mic quality was even worse than the audio quality. There was so much wrong for such a good concept, I truly wish it was better
