Extremely comfortable, high quality shoe.
For the longest time, I preferred the bicycle toed shoe, but I thought I would try the apron toe. I love the look of these shoes. For those that hate to spend this much money on a pair of shoes, its worth it. For some products, I truly believe you get what you pay for, and shoes are one of those products. The leather is very smooth, and the fit is about as perfect as you can get it. Support is perfect and I have horribly flat feet, so that is saying alot. I felt very comfortable in them all day the first day I wore them. These look great with Kakis and look great with dress slacks as well. This is my first pair of Ecco shoes, and I must say that I am impressed with the look and quality. I just might be a new repeat customer.

High Quality Shoes
I've been wearing Ecco shoes for a few years and really love them. My last pair lasted about 2+ years, and I wore them 6-7 days a week. I didn't polish the leather regularly or ever take them in for repair, or else they may have lasted longer. The soles were beginning to crack and the leather was starting to show serious wear, so I ordered another similar pair from amazon. I had pretty high expectations for this pair. So far they are a tiny bit stiff, but I've worn them for about 6 days and that is starting to wear off. I have had no break-in pain with them. I do buy my shoes a little big, so that probably helps as there are no parts that are pinching any part of my foot. They are very comfortable and easy to slip on and off. They quality seems really good, consistent with other Ecco shoes I have worn. These are a little more formal than my last pair. I usually wear jeans to work but I will have to get a nicer pair of jeans for these to match. In other words it is possible to dress these down, but they lean towards slacks more than jeans.

Simple quality shoe
I have wide feet and it fits fine. No blisters or discomfort. That said, I sit in an office everyday and don't walk a ton. It's a little plain looking-flat top with no design or laces-but the convenience of not having to tie any laces is nice, especially for an everyday shoe.

Great shoes...comfortable, quality shoes that look great.
I have to say Ecco shoes are the best shoes I've owned. Excellent quality shoes that are extremely comfortable. I own a pair of Ecco dress and casual loafers and ordering another pair of Ecco dress shoes today, so I will have black in addition to the brown pair I own. They feel great new, get more comfortable with time, and continue to look great too. I have a pair of casual loafers I've had for 6 years that I wear several times per week. They hold up well, provide great support, look great, and feel great on my feet. The dress loafers I've had for a couple of years do just as well. Ecco are more expensive than a lot of shoes, but they are worth the extra money. Your feet will thank you. Dress to impress...comfortably.

Oversized, overpriced, awkward sizing scheme. Get better for half the price!
OK, seem like Clark or Bostonian type quality and not like $200 shoes. The ECCO sizing scheme DOES NOT work for me. 10-10.5 is really just a 10.5, far too big for my size 10 feet and I'm not willing to try the only other option of 9-9.5 in fear that they'll be too tight. 10 is a common size! Who made the call to "skip" 10 and make it the in between, "just in case" size? The shoes have a kind of "un-sexy" bulky look and feel to them also. I prefer a sleeker looking men's shoe. The pictures make them look sleeker than they are. They are nice shoes, sure but you can easily do just as well for half the price. Seriously, try Clarks, they're just as good IMO. I RETURNED THESE OVERSIZED AND OVERPRICED CLUNKERS.

in fact after polishing they look pretty similar to when they were new
I've now owned these for 16 months and worn them probably 50% of days for work or various activities. They have held up extremely well, in fact after polishing they look pretty similar to when they were new. They are also quite comfortable for dress shoes, much more so than the $30 pairs I used to own. I don't recommend for all day on your feet, but if it's a mix of standing and sitting you'll be comfy. Walking is fine, although I did wear them touring a city and unexpectedly wound up walking about 7 miles that day and that was about 2 miles too much for my feet in these shoes - definitely stick to sneakers if you're going to be walking around all day. They do fine in all weather. I like the slip on style, the back is firm enough to slip your foot in easily without it crushing underneath. These look good with jeans or fancy pants.

These are not the nicely feeling/fitting shoes made in Portugal with black cloth liners
You can see the light tan outline when wearing these shoes and that create a cheap look. These are not the nicely feeling/fitting shoes made in Portugal with black cloth liners. Made in China, but also cheaply made. I will not buy them again. Update...the sole around the top next to the leather top is not actually black. It's a very dark brown. Again, cheap. Will not purchase and very disappointed in this product.

Great quality, comfortable fit
I've been buying Ecco shoes for years for their quality and fit and this pair of Holton's lives up to my expectations. However, although it wasn't a problem for me, this pair has obviously been pre-worn - possibly for as long as a week due to the deep creasing across the vamp. So....for anyone concerned about whether another person's foot has ever been in your shoes, you may want to look to a different seller.
