Good Jacket, Sizes are an Issue
This is my third Xelement motorcycle jacket purchase from LeatherUp -- one leather, and two mesh. (My previous mesh jacket was stolen, so apparently someone else liked it, too.) The jacket being reviewed here is nearly perfect for my warm weather riding needs, is (now) only available via online purchase, so I decided to buy another one. Many of the reviews here caution that the jackets run small, so order two sizes up. I did, by ordering a Large. (I'm 5'7".) I was swimming in it; should have ignored those reviews and ordered a Small. BTW, the previous Xelement mesh jacket I purchased WAS a Large, and it fit perfectly, so go figure. Overall, a good jacket, but you should probably order the size you wear, not a larger one. One more thing: If you purchase a jacket and need to return it, you will pay for UPS shipping.

... with a 45" chest and the large was a perfect fit for me
I'm 5'9" 185lb with a 45" chest and the large was a perfect fit for me. The jacket is kinda hard to remove w/ the liner installed as the sleeve attachment at the wrist is kinda cheesy. I bought this for hot weather riding and do not anticipate using the liner very often. The elbow/fore arm pads are a little sloppy and the pockets are a bit too small to install my better set. The knit cuffs are kinda tight to get my hands through but snug enough on my wrists to keep the wasps out. I have been riding for about 40yrs in the same set of Bates custom leathers, and started looking at textile jackets about 4yrs ago. I just wanted some thing for that quick trip that was not really worth the hassle of 30lbs of hot leather. This jacket offers way more protection than a tee shirt and vest. For the price you could spend over twice as much on a textile jacket that is not 10 percent better. This jackets costs about the same as four tanks of premium fuel. Even if it only lasts a season or two I think it is a good investment..

Great jacket, but upgrade the armour!
The jacket is very well designed with 4 pockets outside and 2 inside. Very comfortable to wear, great quality and the mesh is excellent for air flow, I really like the soft elastic inside the cuff and outside velcro makes a tight fitting cuff. The liner is great but a bit of a pain to take in or out so I don't use it. Instead I wear a light jacket underneath in cool weather. I was about to give it 5 stars until I read another reviewer's 1-star review. It made me realize that the protection, the main reason I wear an armored jacket in the first place, is sub-par. In fact the spine armour is only a thin piece of foam, it's totally useless! I did some online research and found Force Field Body Armour to be the best protection. I replaced all the shoulder, elbow and spine and I got to say that Xelement did a good job in making the pockets for the protection pads large enough to accommodate these upgrades. I realized that the pads in my cycle pants were also of poor quality so I upgraded them to Force Field as well. I ended up paying more for the pads than for the jacket and pants combined, but cheap when you think of the consequences of a crash. Dress for the slide, not the ride! Now I have a great jacket with the best armour.

Looked good when received and fit snug
Looked good when received and fit snug. I am 6' 175lbs and a large is quite snug around the waist/chest. It even fits my long arms really well. One of the snaps on the jacket sleeve that holds the liner tore loose after 3rd removal. Turned the jacket inside out and found that the stitching on the inside of the jacket was terrible. My wife taught me how to sew and I'm not very good, but I could have done a much better job, my grand daughter could have done better.Spent about 30 minutes fixing the stitching on the inside of the jacket and all is well and I like the jacket.Good purchase for the price, but the inner jacket stitching could be a lot better. Outside stitching looked pretty good.

Great Jacket...but Beware of Size Adjustment Needed
I bought this jacket for my husband, but were very disappointed when we received it. We ordered a 2XL (the size my husband wears for all of his clothinhg - shirts, jackets, etc), however when we received it we found that it actually seemed to be about the size of a men's Medium - Large. We double-checked the tag in the jacket (thinking they had shipped the wrong item), but it read 2XL as well. We had to contact the seller & request a replacement for a bigger size. We ended up having to pay shipping to return the original jacket back to the seller & they then shipped us another jacket...a 5XL (which fits my husband perfectly). In the end, we tried to purchase this jacket offline to save $30 (rather than buying from our local motorcycle accessories dealer), and it ended up costing us the price of the jacket, plus shipping to return it and about 2 weeks of our time.On the up side the jacket is of good quality & we feel it would provide adequate protection to the torso & arms if by chance you were in an accident. There is a thick styrofoam pad on the back and hard plates in the elbows, forearms & shoulders. The material is very thick and the material/snaps seem like they will last a while.I would recommend this product, just beware the size when ordering to avoid any delays to your riding in safety!

Great Customer Service
First let me say the sizing runs very small, I am 6'5" have a 51" chest and a 48" waist, the 4XL fits snug with the liner but is comfortable without it the only complaint I have is the jacket is very short just meeting the top of my belt. The distributor was very helpful, I originally ordered a 3XL according to the sizing chart but I changed my mind. The next morning I called them and they were able to change the size I ordered before it shipped, the lady i talked to even called me back to tell me they were able to change my sizing and it did not affect my arrival date. 10/10 would recommend. Quality was good, I recently spent $40 on a pair of Bilt Dual Sport gloves and noticed they were also made in Pakistan, I wouldn't be surprised if they came from the same factory.
