Whirlpool 2252130 Ice Dispenser Motor, White

This is a replacement part that crapped out on a 15 year old Kenmore (Whirlpool) fridge. Part was identical to original. Install easy to install if you have an idea how to replace the part. So far so good. Arrived sooner than expected.

The ice dispenser on our refrigerator quit working about 2 years ago. We had an appliance guy come out to give us a repair estimate. He said we needed a whole new dispenser unit at over $500. We decided that we could wait on that as ice maker was working fine, and we could get ice by simply opening the door.Then the ice maker went out a few weeks ago. While I was searching online for a replacement ice maker, I found this dispenser motor for under $100. Feeling lucky, I decided to take a gamble and see if just replacing the motor would cure the non-functional dispenser. I ordered the motor and an ice maker, the parts arrived a few days later. Replacing the parts took me all of 20 minutes, and I now have a fully functional ice maker and dispenser for a little over $100. MUCH better than the $500 I was quoted for only the dispenser to be repaired!

This replacement part for our KitchenAid refrigerator is exactly the same as the old part. No instructions are included in the box, but I found some online and it took less than 30 minutes to replace. Reasonable price compared to some other online merchants.

Expensive but better than the one that stopped working

Complete and total satisfaction with this dispenser motor. The primary reasons for the 5 star rating are that it is Made In the US by Whirlpool and is exactly the same shape, style and look as the original that eventually stopped working. Installing this took me no more than 15 minutes and ultimately saved me from having a repair person and charge 2X - 3X or more. Time will tell if the quality is the same, however the original motor lasted about 8 years. If the refrigerator and freezer last another 8 years, it will be amazing. Love it when I can source items made in AMERICA!

needed the new motor argure for my icemaker in whirlpool refrigerator. called up several local app. parts companies. got prices of$85 from one place to $95 from another and then $130 from even another. SAME PART number and two of the stores were owned by the same company each on the other side of town. got it here on amazon and saved alot of money. easy fix just four screws to remove it and replaced it and plugged it in. now the ice maker works like it did when new. wife happy, kids happy. so i am happy.repair place whould have charged $130 for part and about $200 to $250 to come out and fix it.

This motor is a direct replacement for my freezer auger ice maker. It fit perfect and worked fine, for 82 days. This part was fulfilled by Whirlpool. This is why I purchased this specific offering of the part, rather than go through Whirlpools parts service. Free 2 day prime shipping, right?It stopped working less than 3 months after installation.Whirlpool will not honor their part warranty, because it was not purchased directly form Whirlpool.Their warranty link included/listed on Amazon's product/part site does not make any exclusions to the purchase place, and the warranty on the link is for whole appliances.Their warranty does not state that they will not provide service parts 1 year warranty if purchased through Amazon.Shame on Whirlpool.Amazon is refunding me the full amount.Yay, Amazon!This is the 3rd time the motor has died in 12 years.Be careful buying this, just know that Whirlpool will not warranty the part.

Easily Replace the motor for the Ice Dispenser in Kenmore and Whirlpool Refrigerators. I had mine replaced a few years ago when it was under warranty, but the second time I knew I needed to do it myself. Total Install time would be less than 15 minutes, requires a Phillips Screw driver, and 1/4" hex to remove all needed screws. Remove the water pan to access the 2 phillips screws, then you can pop off the front to access all hex screws. I didn't even need to unplug or remove any freezer items.
