KidKraft Super Highway Train Set

LOVE! My 2 and half year old son and I both spend time each day playing with this train track set. I read all other reviews prior to buying and am glad I did. For the price paid ($70) this was good purchase to me.Pros:3 level train track set with sturdy track supportsLess $ than other brands/ comparable setsLot of track turns, ramps, multi-levels, bridges, tunnels, a helicopter pad, airplane landing, crane and extra non attached pieces.The train tracks at each turn have guard rail and the trains stay on track when pushed and released by kids - which they love. Trains stay on track very well.Easy to incorporate additional track set (if you want- we added a Melissa and Doug basic set to this to make ground level even more fun)Colorful, mix of wood and plastic, well made (for price)Cons:*Assembly time - it comes in a box, screwdriver needed to assemble and it took some time for me to do (one adult)But my son likes to investigate each piece and 'help' so this was ok for us. Assembly is not difficult - just several small parts to do.*Assembly instructions - mine were missing but I found them online by googling the name of this set, printed them. They are horrible instructions.*Assembly of the 5 wooden structures - tower, crane, airport ect was tedious, screws are tiny, takes some time*Assembly of the train tracks with the structures - I got impatient and tried to wing it using the box photo as guide instead of using the written instructions. Trains would not stay on the tracks at turns, the tracks did not fit together correctly, the bridges/supports would not stay up - I thought the whole set was cr*& and regretted buying it.*Assembly correction - I took the entire set apart and started over. I used the instructions to separate and inventory each piece. I labeled each piece with sharpie. There are many train track parts that look alike but they are not alike - labeled them correctly as shown- A1, A2, A21, B2, B21, B21A1 ect - and reassembled. BEAUTIFUL after that! Everything fits together perfectly and works great.Summary - assemble carefully - use correct pieces at the correct places and this is a great set. Yes, the wooden crane and the tiny trains that come with it are not the greatest quality, but overall this a good quality set and we use different trains on it (Thomas, Brio, Melissa&Doug ect)Finished assembled dimensions - 42 inches by 30 inches - set up on top of my coffee table

My kids love this. I gave this to my 3 year old for Christmas and it has entertained him for hours and hours. Lots of thoughtful fun little details, and since it's compatible with other wooden tracks it's easy to add on to and keep interesting. We've added our IKEA tracks in the pictures. I was worried the set might be too unstable/fragile and that with a 1 & 3 year old I would have to be constantly fixing it for them, but it's really sturdy and rarely breaks even with my 1 year old climbing into the middle of it. This is great quality product at a great price point - one of my best purchases in a while. The only thing that would make it better is if the axles on the train wheels were a little better quality- the IKEA trains roll a lot smoother along the tracks than these do.

Great kit for the price! This kit has alot of elevated track so it is not as easy to build as just laying flat track on the floor/table. Most of the pieces were easy to assemble, however the helicopter tower on my set had holes drilled incorrectly on one side and the top. The side had the pre-drilled holes on the wrong end and i am only able to screw in 2 of the 3 screws on the top piece as the 3rd hole does not align correctly. The train cars are pretty nice, the plastic wheels look a bit cheap (accurate for the Great price). I've noticed the magnets sit fairly flush in their mounts of each car, causing the cars to become unlinked when turned too far. Also, i wish the cargo boxes fit the cargo truck and vice versa. Little things for an overall nice set.

This set is adorable and is very different from any of the other wooden train sets that my son has. The assembly is not difficult but it is time consuming and requires screwing the pieces together. I actually started to pre-assemble it before we give it to my son for Christmas so that we can have it set up for him to play with right away. I think it will be much more impressive this way because the box doesn't even have a picture of the set on the outside. I have no complaints at all and I have no doubt that it will blow my 4 year old's mind because it is taller than any other set he has and so completely different from his normal bridges and mountains. I cannot wait to give this to him!

Shipping was super fast, the set up was easy as long as you do it step by step. We put the buildings together first then the outlay of the tracks and everything comes together. This is a birthday present for my 3 year old son. We put it together when he was sleeping, he woke up in the morning and played with it literally all day. He loves everything about this set, the crane is his favorite part though, it took a while for him to get used to the hook, finally he can do it by himself now. He has been loading his Thomas trains up onto the ship like they do in the shows, so this is a great train set for Thomas lovers. It fits perfect on the big kidkraft tables, and soon I'm going to add a roundhouse later since there is a little bit of expanding room. Overall I'm very happy with this purchase, I had looked at all the other options on Amazon, so a good train set for the money.

Piezas muy bien acabadas los niños están encantados y juegan sin parar. El circuito que viene es un poco complicado de montar con los niños pero puedes inventar infinidad de circuitos mas fáciles para que jueguen.

Il manquait une série de 3 courbes, elles ont été envoyées en quelques jours par le fournisseur.KidKraft a été impeccable.Une fois le circuit monté... gros problème ! C'est le Papa qui jouait avec ! Mes petits enfants regardaient ...Humour... je blague... Toutes les générations se sont bien amusées, j'ai déjà acheté des locos électriques pour compléter.

Das Kidkraft-Eisenbahn-Set macht auf den Bildern einen tollen Eindruck: Abwechslung, viel Inhalt, kombinierbar mit anderen Herstellern. Beim Auspacken der ersten Teile stellt sich erst Ernüchterung, dann absolute Enttäuschung ein. Abgesehen davon, dass das Paket im Originalkarton, ohne äußeren Schutzkarton ankam, dieser Karton durch vorheriges Öffnen eines anderen Kunden bereits beschädigt war, hatte er durch den Versand bereits sehr gelitten. Die einzelnen Teile des Sets waren dann auch mal in Folie, mal in Papier usw. eingepackt. Teilweise waren vorherige Montageversuche deutlich sichtbar.Neuware sieht anders aus.Das Kidkraft-Eisenbahnset enttäuschte dann leider auf ganzer Linie. Qualitativ minderwertig. Die Lacke platzten bei 90% der Teile ab, Kratzer, Weißbruchstellen im Kunststoff, schiefes Anbringen einzelner Teilstücke erschweren Funktion usw. Ich kann leider nur abraten.
