I bought these for a big graduation party and they turned out to be great! They are very much like the "Chinet" plates you can buy that are heavy duty plates, but these are more earth-friendly and actually cheaper. They were good for sandwiches, spring rolls, meatballs, sauces, dips, juicy fruits, desserts..... everything that I served. Several of the guests actually asked me about the plates, too.The plates are thick, feel very sturdy in your hand, and can be held with one hand while loading it up with food. Liquidy foods did not soak through, nor did grease. They do not have any kind of "coating" either. No manufacturing nor chemical smell.I'm a "glass dish" type of person and normally use Corelle plates and bowls and real glasses at parties because glass doesn't react with food and drink and I don't have to worry about exposing family and guests to chemicals. Plus, they are reusable. But, I didn't have near enough "glass" for a big party. When I do use disposables, I am very picky about them and want to make sure I'm using something that's worthy of my party, not something that won't stand up to the food and not just plain white paper plates (which are bleached and you need to use 5 or 6 to actually hold food up). Didn't want something made with chemicals that could harm my guests in any way either. It's amazing how many products are thought to be safe, only to have chemicals used in their manufacture later deemed unsafe. And, of course, I like to use "green" products so the fact that they are made from plant fibers and are compostable was very desireable.I highly recommend these plates if you are going to use disposable plates at an event. I would use any of the sizes and shapes if I needed more plates again.

I bought a couple packs of these plates to use for an Enchanted Forest themed baby shower. I wanted products that are natural and are earth-toned. These fit the bill perfectly. They are extremely sturdy. I thought they will be thin and flimsy, so I was surprised that these didn't feel like the most party paper plates you would buy. These are not dinner plates so consider this if you are preparing a BBQ for example and you need space on the plate to put sides, etc. For appetizers, desserts, small snacks...these are just perfect. To coordinate with these I got birch spoons and forks. Personally, I think that because these are earthly color the possibilities of how you set a table and use them for a party are limitless as you are not "stuck" in a certain color wheel.

Make sure to double check the size, these are like the size of a large dessert plate. Sort of between cake plates and smaller than a lunch plate. They work good for our daughter but are not large enough for an adult size portion. They compost well and are very strong so do not bend when carrying them with food on them. The color is a nice continuous brown and does not have the odd texture or speckles like some organic material plates.Pros:- strong and can carry wet food well- good design, look and feel to themCons:- take several months to break down- too small for a lunch or dinner plate

I have bought these a few times now. They are by far the best plates I have ever had. They are the most sturdy plate. This is a must have for all your get togethers.

I am VERY happy with these plates. They are very sturdy (even when wet), and you're doing the right thing instead of buying disposable plastic or styrofoam plates that will take eons to disintegrate. Point is, if you care about your children and/or the environment, you should opt for these.Take note of the diameter though - these are not large plates. But they have been more than adequate for many many barbeques so far.I will never buy non-biodegradable single-use plates again. I hope you do the same.

Just needed small plates for the appetizers and dessert at my party and these worked really well. Love that they’re compostable as well!

Sorry, dont recommend. Can't put anything moist on them. Leakes through. Had to double up to prevent leaking. Love sustainable material, but this one didn't wear well.

These are great for microwave heating pizza , cooking bacon , etc. . They are so durable that when two inverted , with microwavable wrap over food the to be heated or cooked it turns out about as perfect as it can get ! I can then reuse the top plate for next use. I love these desert size disposable plates because it speeds up prepping efficiently with total reliability ! A great bargain and delivery was sooner than I'd expected
