They are a superior design. "AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) sealed battery technology ...
Installed in a 2003 Silverado 2500HD Duramax Diesel... so it takes two. Ordered two of these from Amazon with standard FREE shipping on a Monday. They arrived on a Friday. Both batteries to my surprise are total fresh and new manufacture dates. From what I understand they forward date the date codes approximately 2 months when they label them. These batteries show a date code of 066 which is June of 2016. That means they were made at the very end of March 2016. They shipped directly from the Battery Distribution Center out of Kansas City, MO. They arrived looking totally clean and new and had a full charge. I was surprised how fast they spun over my 6.6L Duramax Diesel when firing it up. Each AC Delco AGM is rated at 740 Cold Cranking Amps and a 110 min Reserve Capacity. Just what is needed to take care of a V8 Diesel with a stereo system including a Sub and an Amp! AGM's cost more but they have so many benefits over traditional flooded (wet cell) batteries - see below. They are a superior design. "AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat) sealed battery technology was originally invented in 1980, and developed and introduced in 1985 for military aircraft where power, weight, safety, and reliability were paramount considerations". Although they have been around a long time they are just know becoming more affordable and being used more in new vehicles. Here are some benefits I found: -There is never a way to make the acid free to slosh around. This allows for installation at any angle, and has lead to DOT exemption for USPS, UPS, and Fedex. -By keeping the "moist" with electrolyte, gas recombination is more efficient (99% AGM). This leads to fewer incidents of exploding batteries than either of the 2 types above. -Since the AGM material has an extremely low electrical resistance, the battery delivers much higher power and efficiency than other battery types. -Since the AGM material has an extremely low electrical resistance it can crank more amps in and out without cost to life. AGM batteries are rated at 100% their capacity for charging and discharging amperage. (compared with roughly 35% for gel and flooded models). -Less acid means a lighter battery -Advanced AGM batteries offer exceptional life cycles by far better than either gel or flooded batteries. This leads to longer battery life. These AC DELCO AGM's appear to be a very well made battery. I am very pleased with my purchase and would purchase again. Amazon's price and shipping is excellent. I recommend AC Delco AGM's. I am NOT a professional reviewer. I did my own research and I purchased these with my own hard earned dollars. Thanks for reading.

Undependable, catastrophic failure, poor customer support(Amazon & Delco)
I have experienced failure of 2 of these. I have been an avid proponent of Delco products for many years/ As a professional mechanic for Cadillac & Buick, I always recommended Delco products to customers. When I needed a battery for my vehicle, I naturally turned to Delco. This turned out to be a huge mistake. The first battery failed 40 miles from home. AAA came to jump start my vehicle but the battery had apparently failed and shorted internally and they could not start it. I bought a battery from them and when I returned home I contacted Amazon who referred me to Delco, who referred me to Amazon, who(get the picture?) After a substantial amount of time on the phone, a replacement battery was sent. The first battery lasted approximately 1 year an had a 36 month replacement guarantee. Battery number 2 was installed and lasted approximately the same amount of time, then the same failure occurred, this time at home, so I installed the battery I purchased from AAA. I have tried repeatedly with both Amazon and Delco to obtain a replacement, but they both keep referring me to the other, saying there is nothing they can do. Is this Right ? Does either organization read these ? I hope this saves someone from buying products that sellers and manufacturers do not support.

So far so good! I got this AGM version when I upgraded ...
So far so good! I got this AGM version when I upgraded my AV system to ensure that I didn't suck the life out of my battery. I've had it since the summer (so roughly 4-5 months), and had zero problems with it. I'm glad because I was concerned that I might have a short in my system somewhere causing my problems, and I am so far from an electrical engineer that I'd be sht out of luck if the problems persisted with this new battery. Fortunately all is well. I think the screw terminals is a crap design, but that's not ACDelco's fault. It's just annoying design in general. This battery works well and is reasonable priced, so I'm a happy camper.

ACDelco 78AGM Professional AUTOMOTIVE BATTERY "WORKS FOR ME"
THE BATTERY WORKED WHEN I INSTALLED IT IN MY CAR A MONTH AGO AND IT IS STILL WORKING FINE. THE MANUFACTURED DATE ON IT WAS LIKE OTHER REVIEWERS HAD SAID ( P093R WHICH MEANS SEPTEMBER 2013). I GUESS THAT'S WHY THEY WERE 25% OFF. IT TOOK 18 DAYS TO GET IT WITH THE FREE SHIPPING. I DON'T THINK MOST PEOPLE WOULD WANT TO WAIT FOR A BATTERY THAT LONG. TIME WILL TELL AS TO HOW LONG IT WILL LAST. I HAVE HAD GOOD LUCK WITH AGM BATTERIES IN MY MOTORCYCLE (DIFFERENT BRAND) SO I FIGURED FOR THE PRICE (CAN'T BEAT THE PRICE) I 'D TRY IT IN A CAR. I DON'T KNOW IF THE MANUFACTURED DATE MEANS THAT MUCH. I HAVE HAD BATTERIES LAST FOR OVER 10 YEARS IN CARS THAT I DON'T DRIVE THAT OFTER BUT I DO KEEP THEM CHARGED.

8 years!
I bought this battery in 2016 and it finally died today. Had not a single issue till I tried to start it today after sitting 3 days. Will no longer start my truck or hold a charge. 8 years I got out of it! No longer can get it. New version is 360 and I only paid 150 for this one.
