Amazon Basics Bedroom/Bathroom Door Knob With Lock, Standard Ball, Matte Black

The doorknob itself seems to work well. It’s sturdy, looks good, and functions properly.However the mouse poop in the box that it came in was pretty gross, as there was a substantial amount in there to boot. I chose not to send it back as the knob itself and the other parts were wrapped in plastic. So I basically took the plastic off and wiped the crap out of it with Clorox wipes.Seems like there should be some quality control to oversee that sort of thing.

These are junk. All three of the ones we purchased have issues. They’re all hard to turn, and only unlatch in one direction. If you try turning it the other direction, the door does not open at all. One of them gets stuck when you turn the door knob, so you physically have to turn it in again to make sure the latch goes into the frame to close the door. Sometimes they get stuck and I can’t open the door at all. I tried turning the knob, and I can turn it all the way, but the piece that goes into the frame does not come out far enough that you can actually open the door. These are absolute junk. Don’t bother with them.And I have a hard time believing that I got a lemon, considering I have three of them and none of them work as doorknobs should.

Horrible quality control!! After my contractor installed my new backdoor(I'm disabled). He went to install this "Amazon Basics" entry lock set. Door knob set installed without a hitch. The dead bolt lock set was a complete fiasco/failure!!! Evidently The manufacturer didn't include the correct keys for the deadbolt lock. Every key that was supplied(4) was inserted in lock. All were the same cut. The 4th key went into deadbolt and only (3) came out with somewhat ease. None of the (4) actually functioned in the lock perfectly. The 4th key became lodged into the keyway. While the deadbolt assembly was being disassembled, the lock tumbler came apart and the pins were scattered inside the lock area.Being disabled I don't have the ability to drive around to buy things. That's why I took a shortcut on buying this set from Amazon. Boy Was I Stupid !! For a few bucks more at Menards, I could have bought a great quality SCHLAGE lock set. Now I'm out $20+ & an UBER to Menards since I'm unable to drive.

If you're going to pay this much for a door knob, you might as well buy a higher quality brand like Kwiklock who's been around since 1946. They cost almost the same and will last a lifetime. This knob was awkward to install and didn't have a premium feel to it. I'm suprised Amazon would put their name on this product.

This door knob is weird. I am a 5’1 woman, so you can imagen my hands are small and still this door knob felt small. The bolt lock switch is also small.Door knobs are normally $50 so I thought what a great deal. But it feels like they cut corners to make that money back. The whole product is flimsy and uncomfortable.This is not a good deal. It’s a cheap product for a cheap price. Not secure enough for a front door.Side note: would be better for keeping people out of your bedroom, like if you have roommates.

We ended up not installing it on the door we were thinking of - it does feel solid but is also small to the touch. not quite right for the front door. I may use it on a bedroom / interior door instead.

If looking for bronze door knob cant really beat the price. Looks like the other knobs we bought at lowes. Bought this knob due to a malfunction with a knob and so far it has been really nice. Smooth turn. Sturdy hold. Placed this knob on bathroom door where it gets turned and locked the most. We have had it on the door a few months now and seems to be able to last with 3 girls using it daily.

Why is it that none of the lock makers can agree on how to follow standards? Seriously. Over the last 12 months I have had to install different door handles/deadbolts and everytime something is different. Here, with this Amazon version of a door handle/deadbolt the pin for the deadbolt to connect to the inside of the house is flat. Flat as a flathead screwdriver. Only their custom lever will fit on the inside. A smartlock - which is looking for the square pin that you get from Schlage or from Kwikset - will not work with this Amazon Basics deadbolt. Seriously! It cannot be that difficult to follow standards that all the other manufacturers use. Fail!

Doorknob does not come with a deadbolt lock like the picture dictates. VERY disappointing, especially because I ordered this specifically to change the doorknob and deadbolt. As a single female moving into a new apartment trying to be cautious, I found this a great price, but was disappointed by the lack of deadbolt.

Very well packaged, snappy, intact delivery. Functionally similar to the the ones replaced. Ground down the latch plate recess rather than using a chisel, and substituted some fine thread binding drywall screws. We're good.

Saved a ton of money buying these instead of going to home depot or lowes. Was super impressed with the look and quality. Will be ordering a few more for our home reno project!

Product seems to be good. Only issue is that it clearly shows in the pictures that order consists of a door knob with a key and a dead bolt. I did not receive the dead bolt. Called Amazon and spoke to a gentleman who was based in Uruguay. He reviewed the order and told me that the dead bolt was not included with my order. My question to him was why does it show a dead bolt lock in the pictures, he did not know how to answer me. I was under the assumption that the order included the dead bolt and now I have to go and order one. This means I will have a key for the door knob and a key for the dead bolt. Not impressed Amazon, not impressed at all!!!

It’s a door knob what can I say, it locks, unlocks and come with two keys no dead bolt. It’s fairly sturdy for its price but there is wiggle room. My only complaint is that the locking mechanism is opposite to every other lock in my house. It could be my instal job but I spent an hour trying to change the mechanism with no avail, so I just use it backwards. Other than that a solid knob
