Formula 4 is a unique soil mix of 4 organic ingredients, specifically prepared for plants in pots and planters. It’s a chunky, open mix which permits air circulation between the roots and has excellent drainage properties. The base ingredient is washed coco peat, which has natural rooting hormones and good moisture retention properties. We add silica rich, heat-treated rice hulls to discourage soil compaction. Silica stimulates cell production in roots and stems to encourage strong growth. We add crushed coco husk chips. The coco husk chips not only aid drainage but act as miniature sponges which reserve air and nutrients around the roots. Coco husk chips contain short strands of fiber which channel moisture around the roots to help eliminate dry spots. Finally, we add coco husk shell charcoal. It encourages excess water to flow harmlessly away. We don't know of a similar product on the market. Thousands of repeat orders since 2011 testify to the quality. We include a 30 ml bottle of Smiling Worm liquid worm castings concentrate fertilizer. It will not only feed your plants, but also protect them against fungal and aphid attack. It contains 100% natural NPK content and other micro nutrients such as: Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Zinc, Copper, Iron and Manganese. And we include a bag of our coconut fiber drainage layer. Simply place a layer of the fiber in the bottom of the pot before adding the soil. We always blend our organic ingredients to order. This ensures a fresh product. Many soil mixes sold contain up to 40% water (a heavy bag seems good value)..But do you want to buy old water? Our soil blends contain only 15% moisture.
