Perfect
This chiminea is absolutely perfect! I've had it now for a few years, use it often, especially to grill, and I've had ZERO issues. I'm extremely satisfied and my only worry is theft - so if you purchase this, chain it down so it doesn't walk away.

Take it from a satisfied customer! Also experienced pyrotechnic...
I am a huge fan of these chimeneas! I’m about to buy my fourth one, not because they wore out, but because I keep sharing them with my appreciative family. I started with the Gatsby model and passed that along to a friend after getting confident with using these products on wooden decks. I make sure to have a fire carpet and a fire extinguisher. The spark arrestor and closing door also keep things safer.Everything else has been said. A quality product from an American manufacturer who takes pride in their craftsmanship.. I love showing kids how to roast marshmallows over the chimney. Unless they want to “burn” one the in fire down below!Pro Tip: If Lowe’s hardware store is handy, I highly recommend the Piñon pine firewood. It’s also available from Blue Rooster and is a great aromatic wood to make an afternoon or evening special.Another nice feature is the convenience of moving the chimenea for a special occasion. It’s easy enough to take on a camping trip or to help your neighbors enjoy a tailgate or Halloween “neighbored touring.”

Better than their Prairie model - better view of fire/bigger
This is my second Blue Rooster purchase. First purchase (...after running thru a few cheap clay units from Lowe's over the years) was their Prairie model which, after using it for a few season, I felt suffered from 3 design issues: 1) the round opening for fire is too low/small (can't see fire - hard to get logs in), 2) the space between the burning logs and the bottom of the chiminea is too small (quickly fills up with ashes and some hot ashes fall out of the front opening during fires, and 3) too much smoke tended to come out of the front opening (either because the front opening was too small to ventilate the fire or the chimney was too narrow and prevented enough smoke exhaust from the top).So I sold the Prairie and purchased a pricey big clay chiminea on the Internet which corrected all three issues above. HOWEVER, after one season, the clay started cracking and, sure enough, eventually broke in half right on my deck (luckily there wasn't a fire going at the time).I vowed never to buy clay again and went back to Blue Rooster where they now office the larger Venetian model. The Venetian has the best of both the clay and cast aluminum options: It has the large opening/deep bowl (correcting my 'design flaws' above) and doesn't crack! Fire burns more efficiently than the Praire so there is very little smoke as well.I've finally found the perfect chiminea. Yes I'll have to paint it every year or two, but that's a $10 can of high-heat spray paint at Lowe's... a small price to pay for years of no cracking of the chiminea.(One wish is that the unit was an inch or two wider as some of my longer logs don't fit flat into the unit... but that is a very minor issue).Well worth it - particularly versus the clay or Blue Rooster Prairie options.

Best Chiminea I've ever owned!!!
Best decision I made when looking for a Chiminea. It came packaged well, on time, and was easy to assemble. It's very easy to start a fire, and once the chimney gets a bit of heat in it, you can hear the increase of airflow through it and the fire really begins to go. It's large enough to accommodate logs up to 16". For grilling the chimney comes off easily with three screws to access the grill feature. The large 16.75" cast iron grill insert is perfect for grilling with the family while still enjoying a warming fire. I like that the door serves as a way to access the fire as well as being a spark arrester. The chimney also has it's own spark arrester making it safer to use. The aluminum casting makes it light and easy to move compared to it's cast iron cousin, and cools much faster making safer after it burns out. Compared to clay and cast iron chiminea's, there's no comparison, this chiminea outperforms all others and will outlast them by far. I read reviews where people complained about quick discoloration of the paint. Here's the key to prevent that from happening. Follow the instructions, build two or three very small fires and allow to cool in between to allow the paint to "season' itself. Do not make your first fire a blaze no matter how tempted you may be. You pay a bit more from Blue Rooster but remember, you get what you pay for, and quality doesn't come cheap.

Blue Rooster Chiminea is Awesome
The media could not be loaded. We really enjoy this chiminea. It allows us to sit by a nice warm and relaxing fire. We don't worry about getting smoke in our faces like your traditional open or 360 degree firepits. The opoening in the front allows the chiminea to create a draft from the front of the chiminea to the chiminey. This allows the smoke to go up and out of our face. We sat by the fire the other night. It was 37 degrees out. The chiminea kept us warm and cozy. This is a great atmosphere for family and friends to gather and enjoy each others company. Who doesn't like to sit by a fire ?The assembly of this is very simple. They provide a screwdriver to do this. You litterally just screw in 7 screws. Then you start your fire and enjoy. I have the cast aluminum chiminea. It willl last me for YEARS. So do yourself a favor. Buy one of these chimineas. You will enjoy years of having a fire that will allow you to relax and enjoy, worry free.

Practical Chiminea
Delivered with no problems. Well packaged. No instructions on assembly yet pretty self-explanatory. Makes plenty of heat but best if your sitting distance is 5-10 feet. Have to get a good bed of coals for best heat output. Can sit relatively close to it on the un-open sides, not as hot as wood stove although can feel some heat, sides/back. Overall satisfactory comfort when using in 50's-60's temp range. As with any chiminea, can smoke until fire is hot enough to pull a draft. IF windy will also blow some smoke out the open hearth, but not nearly the problem as open fire pit. I used Never-seez on bolts in contact with cast aluminum to avoid any galvanic corrosion issues. Comes with touch up paint for small installation scrapes/nicks.
