Dinner just got a little bolder (and fresher). The versatile flavor of McCormick Organic Garlic Powder is the perfect addition to any dish -- literally. Its pungent, slightly sweet taste enhances soups, sauces and marinades to stews and stir-fries, and everything in between. And a little dash goes a long way. That's because our spices are steam cleaned and gently dried, so they retain their natural color, aroma and superior flavor.

Organic
I use garlic powder in a lot of my cooking--everything from roasted chicken, noodle soup, beef stew, chili, to quesadilla sauce. I've been buying McCormick brand spices forever, and we used to live near the manufacturing plant (you can always tell the days they were pushing out particular spices because the neighborhood smelled like curry for hours). The quality of these spices can't be beat. I'm not sure though that buying the organic garlic powder is a good value over the larger regular garlic powder jar. My rule of thumb is that if the food house a good protective, natural and inedible shell, then it's not as worthwhile to purchase the organic variety of it. So I don't buy organic bananas, avocados, onions, or garlic. But I do try to purchase organic when it comes to strawberries, apples, milk, or celery. Thus, organic garlic powder is even further removed from that equation. While I do love the quality of this spice, I would recommend saving your organic dollars for other spice varieties.

Tastes good but expensive for what it is
It's garlic powder -- tastes great and fresh. If you're trying to go all organic, this certainly fits the bill, but I'm not 100% certain if going organic for your garlic power is critical. In any case, this is otherwise your standard garlic powder, as labeled on the bottle, it provides approximately 1 garlic glove of flavor for every 1/4 teaspoon of powder. The bottle I received has an approximate 2.5 year shelf life per the best by date which seems totally reasonable. I've used it on some garlic toast (in which there's even a recipe on the bottle), potatoes, salads, amongst other recipes and the results have been expected just like any other garlic powder. On the other hand, I'm not positive enough on this product to call it better enough than non-organic garlic powder, especially with the current selling price of this product -- I'll save in my spice budget elsewhere. (The non-organic version, especially if going generic and getting a larger quantity, can be as much as five to ten times cheaper...)

Good stuff!
We've been using McCormick spices for many years. We find them consistent, fresh, and they cover a lot of uncommon ones that are sometimes hard to find. It's a toss up, whether we use garlic or chili powder or cayenne the most. I make my own tartar sauce, and it works great in that. We have a roasted corn, red bell pepper, and red onion dish that this works so well in. It's great to use when you don't need or want the extra moisture that fresh garlic has, plus it's a little less in your face. It's fresh, smelled wonderful, and the shaker/pour cap works just fine. The bottle is sturdy so it can take getting banged around some, which is handy since I'm a klutz. Tasty and Trustworthy
I've used McCormick spices - including garlic powder - for many, many years. I trust the brand to always be of high quality and to taste fresh and true. Now that this garlic powder is organic - certified pesticide free - I'm even happier with it. While I do use another garlic powder - Sprouts' house brand has a more intense kick and I use that in cooking if I have no fresh garlic in the house - McCormick is the brand I prefer for everyday use. It makes the very best garlic toast. (I tried doing it with Sprouts' house brand and it about took my head off.)McCormick's is perfect for light use - a dash in scrambled eggs, a little in salad dressing. If you go heavier - 1/4 tsp. is equivalent to a clove of fresh garlic - you can get a much stronger flavor. But what I love about this powder is that being subtle is easy. No one in our house likes garlic to be overwhelming and I know when I use McCormick's that we're going to get exactly what we want.I've used this garlic powder for decades and highly recommend it.

Taste great, fresh, and is organic.
This McCormick organic garlic tastes very good and very fresh. I love that it is organic and healthy. My only slight on this product is that it isn't the strongest garlic powder I have used. That being said it does taste amazing, and McCormick is a reliable and high quality company. The garlic is a fine powder, but not overly fine so that there is a little texture. The powder smells delicious. It also mixes in well as I made a chili last night and it was easy to add and mix in. I would recommend, but if you want a really strong garlic powder this one may not be the one.
