Daiwa Emcast Sport 6000 Saltwater Reel

Not as good as I expected but amazon.com was by far the cheapest around.. The shipping was extremely fast like it ordered on a Saturday and I received on Wednesday with standard shipping. Plus it came with 2 spools so I can uHave 2 diffent lbs test w/o have to waste string and re-spool more often. After all that it's a fair reel to purchase

This Daiwa reel seems to be a good reel for saltwater surfcasting, giving you more distance for bottom rigs. It comes with two aluminum spools - one shallower for braided line, one deeper for mono. The drags is smooth and strong, the handle very comfortable. However, the only thing I dislike is the plastic ring just behind the spool. It looks like is is purely a cosmetic part, but it is very flimsy.

Had this reel since 2013. Used and abused and it's still working fine. Caught 8lb catfish no problem and I've caught 60lb+ stingray.I purchased this reel to use as a secondary/backup reel. But after landing a few large sharks and rays I kept it as my main reel. For the price I don't think I've had a better reel.

i use this reel for surf casting every 6 months in destin florida. it is a fairly strong reel but under lots of pressure the side of the reel bends into the spool. i dont know if this is a big problem but all of my other reels never do this.

Great reel, has nice smooth feel to it. Easily handled the 50lb redfish, 7ft hammerhead, and the 57in. blacktip using 40lb power pro. All caught at Ft. Morgan surf fishing.
