Fantastic compact binoculars
Fantastic compact binoculars! Well built, solid construction (doesn't feel like a toy). Excellent image magnification for the price. If you want a pair to just have around to look out the window or while out on a walk - get these binoculars. Easily see down the block in clear distortion free clarity. Great eye adjustments and focus control. I wear glasses too and have no problem looking thru them. I'm taking these bad boys everywhere!

Purchased for Our 5 Year Old Grandson
On our boat this summer, our 5 year old grandson loved a pair of old binoculars that we kept on board. He used them to check out various things on and around the lake. His enjoyment impressed me enough to find a pair of binoculars for one of his Christmas gifts. I read several of the reviews and chose this pair. Although this item is not specifically for children, the reviews did make it sound as if they were durable and had good sighting. In other words, when looking through them he would be able to actually see objects in the distance with some clarity. I also believe they are waterproof. Time will tell. Our grandson was thrilled when he received them at our family Christmas this past weekend. He even took them to church on Sunday for our granddaughter's baptism (unbeknown to us, of course). During the baptism while standing up front at the altar with his parents and baby sister, he whipped them out and looked through them out at the congregation. Hopefully he saw everyone's smiles looking back at him!

Well built, rugged construction, very good value
I use binoculars for birdwatching and have long-term experience with mid-range models from Pentax and Nikon in the US$200+ range. I have also purchased cheaper and smaller Pentax models in the us$70 range for general use. While I have been very satisfied with the optics of these cheaper models, they do not have the same rugged 'rubber armoured' build quality of their more expensive cousins and are also not waterproof. It was perhaps just by chance that I happened on these Bushnells. Since they were us$32 (the price seems to fluctuate in amazon) i bought one on the basis that even if it wasn't that good, I could always leave it in the car glove compartment as a spare.Having used it, I am very impressed by the build quality. It has the same solid 'rubber armoured' feel as my more expensive binoculars. I feel confident about just chucking it into a daypack, perhaps wrapped around with a $3.89 3M microfibre cloth that I use for general lens cleaning duties. -> . The dioptre adjustment is stiff which to me is a very good thing because I've had bins where the dioptre adjustment would get changed just because i tossed the bins in a daypack.Where optical quality is concerned, I would rate it as 'average' in absolute terms but 'fantastic' if you take into account the price you are paying for the bak-4 prisms. While the Bushnells do give a bright and pleasing image, I still missed the added resolution that my us$70 Pentax 8x21 could give (not to mention the Pentax/Nikons in the US$200 class). Of course, the us$70 8x21 Pentax is nowhere as rugged as the Bushnells - for that you have to pay a whole lot more.So I think Bushnell has got it right. Low price, rugged construction, and reasonable image quality means it is a binoculars that will be lugged around a lot and will be on my neck for general spotting duties. If something deserves a closer look, I'll take out my more expensive 10x42.

Avoid!
Terrible binoculars. Simply will not focus. I expected much higher quality since it bears Bear Grylls' name.

Bear Beware !!!
Please ! Please ! Dont waste your money as these are poor quality regardless of what the promotional info states. The optics are lousy - especially annoying is the "shadowing" effect you will encounter every time you try to view something (did I mention every time). Spend just a little more and save yourself the aggravation I went through with these cheapies. Even the carrying case will give you headaches, as you struggle to attempt to get these little buggers out ( or back into the case...) Put it this way, I really love having a light weight pair of binos to hook on my belt for hiking, snowshoeing, etc, and when I lost my pair of these junkos, I was actually happy !... I think I will stay with Bushnell, however, and try the Trophy XLT 8x32's. If I had a little more $ I would go right to Vortex 8x28's, but what can I say...

Okay binoculars
It is just okay. The pouch it comes in barely fits the binoculars and the small Morse code card they send with it has to be crammed in. The binoculars also do not come with lens caps. They work as advertised but the "extras" really are not that good. Next time I will shop a little more wisely

great for kids... surprisingly good for adults too
i tend to get pretty nice binocs (several hundred dollar range) and use them professionally (rainforest ecology). got these for my 6 and 4 year olds. perfect for them as they can be dropped, dropped in water, etc. without concern. they also fit their inter-pupil distances without problem, are light weight, easy to manage. the younger kid's fingers don't quite make it to the focus knob and the focus is a bit stiff (but that's good) and so i have to say that for the cash... they are amazing. showed them to a professional dealer of binocs (he was curious)... and he was super impressed about the price to quality ration (high value). he sells the $2000 and up varieties... so his being impressed was ... well... impressive.

Little but great!
Nice little binoculars. Used them on the water while kayaking. They are small and takes a little getting ussed to. Wish I had gotten the ones that allowed me to see a bit farther but these are great none-the-less. They take up no extra space and the carry strap is just fine. I have had no issues using these
