Very economical replacement part - Highly recommend based on fit and first month of use
I first confirmed that the original coil failed using my multimeter. Noting that the OEM part was $58 at a local shop, I searched Amazon for an economical replacement. At the time, the coil with the most positive reviews was on backorder and I took a chance on the Hilom ignition coil based on seller ratings, the advertised warranty, and a very limited number of reviews (i.e., which were positive).Disassembly, installation and reassembly were very simple and took about 30 minutes, which included about 15 minutes of cleaning and removing debris. I placed my roughly .012” thick business card (i.e., filler gauge tool) between flywheel magnets and the magnetic coil to set the gap, pressed the coil firmly and against the business card, tightened the bolts and rotated the flywheel to remove the card. The lawnmower started on the first pull. I do not know how long this coil will last, but I am very pleased with the part thus far.

Perfect fit and one pull start.
Fit perfectly, you just need to look up your engine first. I have a Craftsman mower. Got the engine model off the mowet and ent to the Craftsman parts site. Found the coil part #. There was a newer part number that not many sellers had listed. When I used the original part number, there were many results. Settled on this one. Bought the Hilom carberator too. Works great.

It's important to know that it fits.
This coil fit right in as it should. and it works well on my lawn mower. I don,t know where you get yours but i tried one from China and it was a disaster. I tried to drill new mounting holes to make it fit. Ha ha, don,t try it .

Failed as soon as I installed it.
Poor quality. Lawn mower will no start when it is hot. Allow the engine to cool and it will start. They obviously do not test their parts to make sure they will tolerate the normal heat range of an air cooled engine.

Perfect!
Worked perfectly! And saved me around $35 from a local small engine shop.
