Acoustic Research Santa Cruz Portable Wireless Bluetooth Indoor/Outdoor Speaker with LEDs Flickering Flame Light

I purchased this to use on my screen porch and it is great for that purpose. I had similar speakers on the porch, but they plugged into the wall. This one is wireless and Bluetooth. The speaker itself is very attractive. I like the Mission style. Most people think it is a light and don't realize that it is a speaker. And it's a light too! The light options are fun and include white light, a flickering flame light, and a light that bounces in time to the music. You can opt to have no light at all.The product info states that the speaker will hold a charge for about 18 hours of play and that seems about right. The sound quality is nice. I have also used it when I am working in the yard and I can hear it from many yards away from the porch. I'm sure my neighbors are thrilled with that!My only complaint, and thus the 4 star rating, is that the Bluetooth pairing is not the smoothest process. My original plan was to pair the speaker with Alexa and also with my iPhone. I discovered that you cannot have the speaker paired to multiple devices. I had a terrible time getting it to pair with Alexa until I deleted the speaker device from my iPhone. Even then, the speaker does not pair as quickly or smoothly as some other Bluetooth devices I own. As an example, my portable little Bose speaker pairs in a hot second. Because the Bluetooth pairing is a challenge, I have decided to just keep it paired with my iPhone. I can access Amazon Music, Sirius, and my Apple playlists all from my phone and that actually makes the iPhone the more versatile device. Rock on!

Oh my gosh. Theses are phenomenal. Don’t need to be a techie to set up. Have used them all summer on the patio and will use them indoors this winter. I love that it can play from my phone or iPad and I can Place the speakers wherever I want music. Great quality and sound and lets not forget the different lighting effects

Loud but bass is far from satisfying. Also rattles at higher volume levels. Lighting features are very nice. Appearance is good from afar but up close, material looks and feels subpar. Surprising that a dedicated audio brand name markets a product that is not up to audio standards from other lesser known brands.

The speakers are always going out of sync. These seller does not take responsibility for replacements or repairs. He speakers themselves look like they're quality however when you are more than 5' away from the speaker they lose signal. When the speakers of more than 5' apart they lose signal contrary to the instructions. Definitely a poor quality speaker. Do not buy. I saw the same ones at Costco in decided to buy them from Amazon instead.

We love this portable speaker, we bought it to use on our patio while playing outside and swimming in the pool. It connects via Bluetooth to Amazon Alexa devices, and to all the cellular devices we have paired it with. The light is bright enough to see what is around it a few feet, but I didn’t expect anything more than that.

We liked it because you could pair or two of them and get stereo it works fairly easily and it sounds really nice

We bought two of these as they are excellent 'by the pool' speakers. We always enjoy sitting by a fire, so the different 'lighting' modes allows the 'flickering flame' effect. Would I use this speaker hooked up to my home stereo, no...but I don't believe what it's designed for anyhow...the sound quality, charge 'holding ability' and 'coolness' make it worthwhile. I have two for my back yard and have bought several for friends as gifts for one occasion or another and they love them.

Nice speakers. Looks great with the flames. And the sound is decent for the price you pay. Bought 2 to pair together for pool parties, etc.A little tricky to re-pair as a stereo set if one has been used as stand alone. They would not pair up to each other until I performed a “reset” on the speaker per the instructions. Once I did that they paired to each other just fine.
