Avianweb EZ Bird Harness with Leash (Lesser Sulfur-Crested Cockatoos/8)

I ordered a harness for my large parrot, an umbrella cockatoo. I have not attempted to put it on her but the quality of materials and structure design clearly demonstrate the people who make this know about birds....what really sealed the deal for me was the training instructions included. I have spent a lot of time, money, blood, and tears into learning about positive reinforcement training and the instructions included were in line with current data, thorough, safety oriented. They appear to written with bird mischief in mind, and with an understanding of where human caregivers sometimes get confused.

My 21 year old has never been outside since I got her in September. She absolutely loved it but she is not trained to the harness so she did bite the leach a few times. She will get better tho. I do believe it should have came with a thinker leach.

Even though it has holes like a belt, there is no metal rod to hold it in place better. Would definitely be much more safe if it did! I’m having to consistently check it to be safe.

So I returned this for two reasons. Firstly it did not fit my bird because it was too large. With this package I recieved multiple papers saying that to contact the merchant for a better for if needed. This product really seemed as if it would be the most difficult thing to place on your bird but to be quite honest this was VERY easy for me. The second reason I returned this was because I bought a diaper for my bird and hadn't realised it was also a flight suit so I didn't need the leash. I would recommend buything product however I would first measure your bird and send to the merchant that's ay when you receive it you can begin to train.

The media could not be loaded.  It’s very nice and the straps and harness are all soft on the inside so it seems like it wouldn’t irritate my bird and I have a female cockatiel and she’s seems ok with it she’s not in pain or anything but she kinda doesn’t really like it which would be expectable with putting anything foreign on your bird they usually want to take it off right away but I’m trying to get her used to it I put it tight enough to hold her correctly but also loose enough so it will not squeeze her and I can fit a finger through the straps and she can also move it up and down with her beak so it’s not hurting her but since the cord is in her way she tends to bite it but overall it’s a good product I feel like it’s worth the money because it fits perfectly and doesn’t hurt her but she doesn’t nessesarily like it it’s a little hard to get it on her too as she moves and stuff and I have to make sure she’s not getting any feathers caught in the place where you secure the strap but it’s overall a good product and keeps them from flying away too far and also has an elastic part of the cord so that it’s not yanking the bird hit just more like guiding them that they can’t go that way and so she would fly back towards me :)

I have tried other harnesses and these work great. Easy to slip on bird and he loves to go for walks. He now looks forward to wearing it when I bring it to the cage. Great company, easy to follow literature for using. I have a cockatoo that is in-between sizes and they sent two different sizes for the same price. I am thankful for that, the larger of the two fits best. I have found and used cheaper, you get what you pay for. These will make you feel great and confident your bird in safe and enjoying "the ride".

Unless bird is dead very hard for one person to put on and bird bit through it in one day

Phoebe is not thrilled with the vest, but we are just starting out. I have already lost one bird to the outdoors (I was devastated). I am determined to be with my baby and not lose her. My husband and I are traveling now that retirement is here and Phoebe is going, too. The vest provides quality time sitting outside when we are not sight-seeing. I am still working on the belt connection not taking too long, but I feel that will come in time. Phoebe loves me, so she gets over changes easy. I am positive this will go well, as each fitting is getting easier and longer.
