Kite String Reel Winder 7inches Dia with 600 ft Line (60 lbs) for Kids Teens and Women

I used it for attaching a bean bag to pull equipment up on ropes. I did rope access id throw the beanbag with attached line and set up anchors to climb.

Good piece of kit. Does the job and does the job well. Unbelievable value.

It's a nice real to have , some dimension changes could be made, sidewalls of the bearing track could be extended a little.

I purchased a cheaper kite to take to the beach because I haven't flown a kite since about 1967. But I knew I wanted more line and something easy to use to fly it. I do not regret this purchase one bit!. It's twice as long (600 feet) as the string that came with the kite (300 feet), and it was thicker, sturdier string too. A little cumbersome to attach to the kite, but that's because the hardware is very sturdy. The conditions at the beach were VERY windy, and we slowly reeled out all of this string. Just don't do it too fast or your kite will fall. The kite flew very well, and we really had fun. But when it came time to reel it in, that was the big payoff with this product. Super easy to wind, and the kite reeled in simply and perfectly, in about 2-3 minutes. I thought it might crash when the line got smaller, but it didn't. Came in just like a well trained dog. We really loved this product and I would recommend to anyone who wants their kite to fly high, but doesn't want to spend an hour reeling it in at the end of the day.

It was great to be able to simply wind the string onto the reel while bringing the kite down. Naturally, you need the kite to keep the string taut while winding, but no problem on a breezy day at the beach. I would recommend wearing gloves to avoid cutting yourself. I avoided that during first use, but will be getting gloves in the future.

Works fine for small delta kites in lower winds.However, I wouldn’t recommend this for anything larger than a basic delta kite and ~5mph winds.I attached an octopus parafoil style kite in ~10mph winds and the attachment point for the winding knob failed. This caused the winding knob to detach from one side, allowing the reel to spin freely. As it spun back around, the hinge point of the handle stabbed into my finger, embedding the dull piece of metal under my skin, causing a small but very bloody injury.

Way too much gadgetry for such a simple activity. It’s hard to quickly unlock and reel the string in/out, and if there’s any slack, the line tangles. This product has been a bust, and we’re returning to a simple D-shaped hunk of plastic.

Easy to use, lots of line on the reel. I purchased this string to replace a broken reel, I’m happy with the upgrade. I also purchased a 30ft octopus with a second reel, due to the size and pull on the massive kite that one was a bit more difficult to pull in. A larger reel would have been better for the larger kite.
