Silly fun!
Okay, this workout is not for everyone - you need an open mind. I bought this workout based on reading the 5 star reviews from others. I previewed the workout to see what it was about and began to immediately think, wow, this is cheesy. The instructor has a killer body so that intrigued me and it was obvious that the guy in the background thought so as well. My husband, looked at what I was watching and asked if it was a stripper workout (yeah, definitely won't see him doing this workout). Somehow, I thought the workout was going to be 20 minutes or divided up so that it could be done in shorter time frames - it was 60 minutes long with a brief intermission 40 minutes into workout.Since I purchased this workout and in the back of my mind was thinking - hey, I wouldn't mind looking like Erin - I gave it a try. It was harder than I thought and I ignored the creepy guy stopping what he was doing to look at her butt and gritted my teeth with some of Erin's peppiness. I completed the hour long workout which is a challenge for me because I think I suffer from long exercise attention deficit (maybe that is the guy in the background's problem - he might have been, look "b**bs"). I felt great after the workout, my bum shoulder wasn't hurting and that night I immediately felt sore (usually it takes me a couple days to feel the effects of a workout). So am I going to do this workout again, yes - in the privacy of my room without my husband coming in to giggle and me. I actually liked the workout as silly as that sounds.Gave only 4 stars because it wasn't what I was looking for - I usually don't like 1 hour workouts and the quality of production is a little less than I'm accustomed to (would like a menu splitting up the two workouts). I don't think this is for everyone but it is something fun and different.

Wanted to Love the Workout, Alas, I Am Not Up to the Workout's Speed.
I am reviewing this based on my personal assessment. I purchased this at full price. I am known as a consumer fitness reviewer. For a couple of years there, I had interviewed top fitness pros and those coming up behind them. I reviewed more than 150 workout video/dvds per year for more than a couple of years. I know lots of physical therapists and I have interviewed people at IDEA (the certification org for most fitness pros who want to gain stature in both the gym and also to get a workout out there either on DVD or online)My comments here are targeted to a consumer who might not be physically fit, might not have an exercise program going , might have physical limitations they are trying to overcome-- someone like the person I have been at various times. I know how frustrating it is to get started on a workout and feel like you are over your head. I am talking about a person who could be me, my kid, or any of my friends who for various reasons have had to put fitness on the back burner. After my move last year, I started picking up working out again and almost had to start from scratch (again). While I have done a reboot, I am not completely back to where I was before I started to pack up but I am getting there. I wanted to like this DVD a lot.. that's why I paid for it. Often I don't have to pay for stuff because I review it - honestly and thoroughly. So if you are like me or anything close to the description above, you might find this review useful. If you are active all the time, this video might be a piece of cake. It's very long. It's an hour and there are no chapters to it. So you have to make your time marks and write them down so that if you decide you want to get used to this in reasonable steps and master steps before you dive in (often over your head) to the next segment. I find that disappointing. I noticed where there is some instruction and some modification being demonstrated, Erin (the instructor/creator of this workout) doesn't point it out enough. While she goes on the advanced segments, the man in the background is hard to watch as her moves sometimes block his. I also find that there is no "take it from the top".. meaning a slow work of the steps on every new move. She does do it sometimes but I got lost and rewound the DVD. I don't like doing that.. I often couldn't keep pace with the modifier (the man) because I thought he was going too fast. I just did them at my pace.I did learn some cool stuff, and I liked some of the new moves using the bar (which is something you need to get locally to you from some hardware store-and that isn't explained unless you read the ENTIRE Amazon page or you read her email after you purchased the DVD). This bar doesn't cost a lot but there should be more slower demos on how to use it in various sequences and not just the one with the twirling of the bar from side to side.I wish there was more focus on when to breathe in and when to breathe out to facilitate the movements. Given that she's a yoga instructor (and that's her only certification that I can find. I did ask very specific questions via email and this was one that was not answered completely).I think this must be Erin's first video. because it's shot on a real budget because the modifier person is not lit properly or positioned properly to see him adequately. Erin at times is not lit (or backlit ) properly either to see her move completely for accurate effort on our (the end user at home) part.I thought the challenge of this workout was interesting. I think that some of it is really useful and unique. That said, I would highly recommend that anyone not having taken a lot of yoga classes OR not familiar with Erin's choreography, to1) keep your own time marks and rewind to repeat those elements till you master them before moving on2) to do these movements slowly and not try to keep up with anyone in the video. If your body mechanics are "off" you can and will not only be sore but you could hurt yourself.3) If you don't have the same range of motion in your shoulders as Erin (and she didn't address this at all), you should modify how high your arms are going in comparison to hers4) Make sure you use really good posture with core engaged, belly pulled in and stand tall with good body alignment. This is of major importance because if you get really sore or injured due to body compensation because of poor posture, it's going to hurt.5) I wish there was much more cueing on this video then there is. Her aspirational/motivational talks are great, but if they come at the expense of cueing posture/ body alignment and core engagement, that's a mistake.6) If you are already very active, know yoga pretty well (that's more than 1x a week class) and have lots of flexibility, this is the workout for you.For those more sedentary (and if you have to think about that you probably are) or less flexible, if you want to try this, do it slowly. I really REALLY wanted to like this more, to find it more useful for me to learn new moves and find it more adaptive to my body issues . Unfortunately it's not serving me well. I will keep working till I gain more stamina, flexibility and work through small segments till I master it. (I have done small chaptering and mastering of movement in small bites to be able to put them together. It just takes a long time. The instructor has to be encouraging and engaging and keep you focused on adaptations to work up to doing the complete workout at full speed)

A legit solid workout
Honestly, I was skeptical of this workout. If you look at its Amazon page, it's hard to even figure out the DVD title, because instead of a name, they crammed in a long list of keywords to get maximum search results. That, and if you start reading reviews, a lot of people seemed to have gotten a free copy of the DVD in return for a review. That said, I think it is a legit workout. I can run 5Ks five to seven times a week and probably average 12 - 15 miles every time I touch my bike. It's hard for me to even get my heart rate up on a run now. I give this DVD five stars because it just seems to be the perfect amount of everything. Never in my life would I imagine that a holding a featherweight piece of wood give me such a good workout. Shortly into this workout, my arms are burning, and when it hits full gear, I'm actually huffing and puffing. The pros are that it takes little equipment and it is easy to vary the intensity of the workout. You can get out of it exactly what you want to put into it. It's low impact, too. Yoga practitioners will notice some familiar terminology, and there is some crossover with a little martial arts or tai chi-type of forms. The cons? I can't really think of any.The bottom line, I have a little stack of workout DVDs, and I would probably easily give this DVD an award for being the most unique video in my entire collection. Like I said, it is a legit workout. The hour flies by, you get a great workout, and yet you aren't totally wiped out when it is over. At least I'm not. Also, the DVD that I think would be extremely complimentary to this workout is, "Bodyweight Training: You Are Your Own Gym," by Mark Lauren. The reason I say this is because the ABX workout is done all while standing. Alternating the ABX workout with "Bodyweight Training," would probably be your ticket to visible abs (if you watch what you eat).
