So far, So good!
Good fit, shoes are comfortable. I wore them all day today to “break them in,” but they were soft enough to wear out do the box. I bought them for a trip to Scotland since these are advertised as waterproof and I was looking for more of a casual looking shoe rather than a boot. If anything changes i will update the review, but right now it’s all good!

Ordered 1/2 or 1 size larger, fits perfectly Nice Shoe
Amazon recommended a size 12 for me I guess from past purchases? I usually wear an 11 or 11.5 but these in size 12 are perfect and very comfortable. Well make and good looking. I really like them. I hope I am not doing a disservice by reviewing these without some time passing, but I expect they will wear well. I have not tested the waterproof quality, but I didn't buy them to hike around in a wet forest.

Great for walking and hiking but buy half size bigger.
Love the shoes, but they run a bit small should have bought half size bigger. Bought them before going on vacation where we were walking about 5 miles a day. I have bad feet always hurt but these shoes got me through our two week vacation and could not be happier. It’s now in the 20’s (Fahrenheit) and find them quit warm as well with just a pair of thin socks. Good traction on slippery surfaces too. Overall very happy, worth the money for sure…

Take a Chance on These Shoes!
I've never bought shoes online before, as I normally like to try them on first. So when I bought these, I took a chance. I even kept the box and all the tags, because if I didn't like them, they would be going right back to Amazon! I bought these shoes to replace my Columbia hiking shoes in which I had for over ten years, so my expectations were high. When I received them, I was impressed. Nice quality leather, all seams where the rubber met the leather seemed to have a tight seal, no gaps. It looked like a well made product. In fact, they looked so good, I thought they could probably pass for work shoes. So the next day I wore them to work with nice khaki pants and a nice shirt, and they worked great! In fact, my boss even threw me a "nice shoes" compliment. I've now been wearing these shoes to work every day for two weeks. They're very comfortable, and I love the leather look. They look great in jeans and shorts. I'm very satisfied with these shoes. They're now my main shoes. They were a little expensive, but they are very good quality, and I believe I will get many years of use of of them. Highly recommend.6 Month UpdateI love these shoes. I probably wear them 5 out of 7 days during the week. They're my main shoes, and I know I made the right decision when buying these. Highest quality and my highest recommendation!

Stiff Like Boots
Well, I bought these when they were on sale. My brother has several pair of Merrell shoes and boots. He is always raving about how perfect they are and how they last forever and how comfortable they are. I needed a pair of black walking/sneaker/tennis shoes to replace an older pair of Sketchers. When I saw these on sale I figured, why not give them a try. I was not impressed. I came very close to sending them back, but decided to keep them instead. They are definitely not a replacement for what I needed. The Sketchers are so much more comfortable. These actually feel like I'm wearing my climbing boots. The soles are so hard and stiff with very little flex. I think they make me about an inch and a half taller. Definitely taller soles than walking shoes. Great arch support too. Probably the best I've found for my high arch. They seem to get too warm for my feet, so they will probably be good for winter. The shoes are very well made and will likely last forever, because it will be a rare case that I'll actually wear them. I guess I found out what "Hiking Shoes" are. They do look good though.

Not the same quality as past Merrill shoes
Fairly disappointed in the quality. In the past, Merrill have been very good quality. However, with these, with my first pair, the glue holding the tread to the tip of the toe immediately started coming apart (with me not wearing the shoes very often). Sent them back as I assumed it was just a fluke. The second pair I got seemed like they were going to be fine, but after 4 weeks both toes started coming unglued and I couldn’t return them. I’ve been wearing them for about 10 months and the insides are worn badly, unlike other versions of past Merrill’s. My experience makes me think either Merrill isn’t the quality manufacturer they used to be or maybe just this series is being put together by cheap labor and cheap materials. I think they look great and wish I could get another pair, but being burned twice now did it for me.
