Makes the isometric workout practical like nothing else.
When you workout you need a way to measure your progress. In the old Charles Atlas course and in other isometric courses this was accomplished in a number of ways. You could periodically count the number of push-ups you could do. You could measure your biceps. You could check yourself against some weights.The trouble with checking your progress in this way is that it disrupts your routine. It also is less than a perfect measurement. For example, while core strength is an important part of doing pushups, the number of pushups you can do is also influenced by arm strength. The number of pushups you can do is some combination of these things.Some people hate isometric exercise. Some people don't. I happen to prefer them because they're efficient and convenient, far more so than going to a gym. If there ever was one device that made a gym irrelevant, this is it. Mine synced easily to my smartphone. It works perfectly pacing me through very challenging home-based exercises. I've used mine every day since getting it last week.My top three favorite things about the Activ5:1. I like that you can download different games for it. I need a lot of novelty and variety in exercise. This helps to provide that.2. I like how you can work out different areas of the body in different ways, like abs, legs, arms, etc. This also helps the novelty factor.3. I like how it encourages you to keep the focus on your exercise. To be successful with isometrics you need to concentrate on them. By hitting the different points on the line with the force you generate, you apply sufficient force to really make the isometrics work.In the week and a half that I've had the Activ5, I've gotten about 10 percent stronger and that entire gain wasn't from learning how to use it more effectively. That's actual strength gain. I couldn't be more pleased. I'll be interested to see just how strong I can become using the damn thing.

Not for those needing motivation. Found myself sacrificing form to maintain pressure on the sensor. Back of the closet 😔
