Academy of Magic (Dragon's Gift: The Valkyrie Book 2)

I loved everything about this one out of all the Dragons Gift Series’s! I, too love archaeology, especially historical archaeology! This includes so much of that with the Norse Gods, etc. Great protagonist, I really don’t know the antagonist yet, I’m sure we’ll find out soon. Will Bree find Fallon? Well we’ll have to keep reading to see, personally I think she will, but there’ll be some kind of issue with her (I DONT READ SPOILERS, SNIPPETS, OR EVEN DESCRIPTION, I KNOW MY GENRES AND IF ITS SOMETHING I DONT LIKE I RETURN IT TO AUDIBLE AND AMAZON) SO I REALLY DON’T know, I am a writer as well, so I can just think, that’s what I’d do! Absolutely wonderful and magical! Who knows what’ll happen with Cade and Bree, I mean we know they’ll eventually get together, but will they hook up first, from the physical chemistry I’m guessing yes, but maybe they’re stronger than I could’ve ever been at that age, and being a combat soldier as well, we are a bit different than the normal guy LOL, they also have some kind of strange connection mentally, though I haven’t figured it out yet, well onward and upward to the next one as soon as I finish a chapter at least in my own book 1 of my new series. This series seems to be getting better with every book. Sometimes in different scenes in this book, it is almost like I’m reading about teenagers instead of adults in this book. Bree and Cade act like lovesick teenagers, and when they get together, they stare at each other like teenagers with their first crush. It does get annoying. These two need to act like adults, and start realizing what they’re actually feeling towards each other instead of trying to ignore it. They finally do this close to the end, but apparently they’re still treating it like it doesn’t really exist because they think it’ll just run its course and be done with, and they can go right back to being colleagues again. Bree did get some answers about her magic in this book but unfortunately, she also lost some of her other magic. All in all this book was fun. I will read the next book in the series.

Honestly, I don't know why I'm not waiting for the entire series to finish before I start reading it, and why, while knowing it, I still read it as each book comes out is beyond me. Every time a book ends in all grumpy waiting for the next one to come out. Even though I had to place myself a whole two days, this had been a blast of a reading. I actually think and feel that this series is even better than the triumvirate series and that's saying a lot after only reading two books about Bree and Ana. I would have liked saying that I will wait patiently but this is not going to happen so bring on the next book, Linsey! :)

Another great series from Ms Hall. I posting this review to all 3 of Dragon's Gift books because I read them straight through they were that good. My only regret is the 4th one isn't available yet. The books are well paced with great continuity, progressing smoothly. Some awesome new characters as she continues to expand her magical world. She brings back some our favorite characters but in a way that you don't need to read the other series to enjoy but you'll definitely want to. I have only wish that a future book includes a lesbian romance. It is logical with the friendships being built and extremely powerful women that eventually two of them would be attracted to each other. Regardless I eagerly await the next book of Bree and the next series which will surely focus on Ana.

The “Academy Of Magic” is an excellent continuation of the story about Bree and Ana and their determined fight to find a place for themselves in the world and to also find their missing sister. Linsey Hall has again created a fast moving story with interesting and fun characters, a good plot line and a sinister plot that the heroes have to overcome. I would definitely suggest that you read the whole series.

Linsey Hall has a talent for writing about magic and magical creatures. I admire how she comes up with the different types of creatures and situations. Bree, the main character in this series, possesses magic, but doesn't always know how to handle it. I look forward to learning with her how her powers came to be.

I have been binge reading the Dragon's Gift series starting with the Huntress, Seeker, and Protector books (Cass, Del and Nix), and now Bree's story. Bree and her sisters are all strong and independent protagonists with a funny side. The books are sexy but not smutty, and the book universe develops well as the reader progresses through the series. Very enjoyable read!

Another good book...fast paced, new threats, and continued goo goo eyes between Brew and Care. I know that the author is female and her writing style tends to favor descriptions of characters that favor the female reader (rippling muscles, etc.) however a similar description of the female lead would be nice for the male readers. While, theoretically the picture on the front is supposed to do, some of us prefer the written word and form pictures in our mind. Just saying.

Well I can tell you firstly who wouldn't want to be Bree? So many amazing life changes, will she beat her foe? Will Ana and Bree discover who it is in the future, finding not just amazing new magic talents but also discovering Cade........I mean he is just sooooooo yummy ( as are all Linsey's leading men!) As per usual the wait for the next book will keep me on tenterhooks...... Also as usual, the end of every book from this talented author leaves more questions begging to be answered, which guarantees the reader a great reward when the next book is released, happily its never too long a wait......a must read book from a must read series by a most talented author.......you end up not reading a book but living in a new world just for you.

Very enjoyable read. I am highly anticipating the rest of the series!

Well written

Fantastic urban fantasy novel with a kick ass heroine supported by a God hero with lots of wild magic, good humour and a slow burn storyline.

I found this book quite exciting as there was plenty of action right from the start with plenty to get your imagination going. I look foreword to reading the rest of the serious.
