Not what I had hoped for
I was hoping these were a put it together board. But they were not.. I can still use them and I am sure they will work just fine.. But the diy didn't mean build it yourself.. should have paid a bit more attention but it was under bit it your self kits.. 120 second is long enough to record import things.. tally ho!

Easy to hook up, my kids love it
Having very large solder pads on here made it very easy to wire up to let my kids play with the recording on the circuit. I put a button on a breadboard for my kids to press when they wanted to record or play back the sound.I couldn't find any specs on how many times a voice could be recorded, but the images on Amazon were all we needed to get wired up and started.Selling this as a two-pack was really great for practice with my older kid who is interested in learning how to build circuits; if he accidentally messes one up, we have a spare just in case. (hopefully we won't need to).

Mixed bag. Unit is well designed but getting it to work properly is a process of experimentation.
Like many electronic modules from China, this recording unit comes with very limited instructions. Therefore using the product requires some experimentation. While some others have managed to get it to work, I and many others have found that getting it to record properly in particular can be tricky given the high gain in the unit and that it definitely requires power supply filtering to come even close to having acceptable output fidelity. On a separate tangent, the seller of this item promoted a deal where one could purchase two of these, which I though was great until the package arrived containing only one module. I then had to jump through some hoops to get the seller to refund me the cost of the missing one.

Great little module.
Made a clearance recorder for an aircraft audio system. One module had a capacitor dislodged (C2) but I had a spare 0.1 μF smd part that I soldered in. Worked properly but be warned, you have to attenuate the audio into the system by about 25 or 30dB onavoid overload. Also don’t forget a coupling capacitor to avoid dc problems with bias.
