8 Family Adventure Movies on

If you're a fan of the Golden Age Stars this collection has some really good ones. First you have the beautiful and talented Sandra Dee (Imitation of Life) and the equally beautiful and talented Lesley Ann Warren (Mission Impossible) in The Daughters of Joshua Cabe. Both give outstanding comedic performances in this early 70's TV Movie. You may also recognize Karen Valentine (Gidget Grows Up) and Buddy Ebsen from (Captain January). The picture is pillarboxed with black bars on the sides like most older TV shows. The color and clarity are pretty good considering the compression from eight movies on two DVD Discs. Other Golden Age Stars in this collection are Diane Baker (Journey to the center of the earth) in Baker's Hawk, and Joanna Pettet (Casino Royale) in Pioneer Woman as the mother of then child actress Helen Hunt (Twister). Some of these transfers turned out much better than others but none were unwatchable if you're not too picky. Enjoy!!

Often multiple-movie DVDs sell clunkers with a good film or two. But I enjoyed all of these, well worth adjusting the screen when needed for a few of the older films' broad human interest & natural appeal. The best one--"Young Pioneers"--needs remastering; but it's such a great story by real-life pioneer "Little House On The Prairie" Laura Ingalls Wilder's daughter Rose that I bought it plus its later Christmas episode for DVD gifts anyway. Burl Ives is such a natural in his role that he doesn't seem to be acting. And the "7 Alone" true story is remarkable including the lead boy. I could go on and on, but I'll leave it to you to savor the rest. Happy trails :)

It was interesting to watch these different kinds of movies. Loved to see how the importance the bible is displayed. The picture quality of the older movies is pretty bad at times. Nevertheless it is great to see the beauty of unspoiled nature. "Nothing to good for a cowboy" it not really a movie for children, I did enjoy watching how Gloria and Rich stand up for one another. Yes and how Rich respects the importance of marriage.

Like most in these types of sets there is always one or two really good movies and one that is just passable and the others worth watching.Having said that there are 8 movies for the entire family to watch and there are no worries of inappropriate content in any of them. it is worth buying though. Maybe being an adult some seemed a little lame. But perhaps some younger viewers and small children would enjoy those more. I purchase these type of multi-pack movies to pass on to people you are recovering from illnesses or injuries. So my opinion is not the utmost priority when I decide to purchase.

My jaw dropped when I saw this DVD available on Amazon. The Daughters of Joshua Cabe has NEVER been available in ANY way whatsoever. This movie along with The Young Pioneers were both ABC Movies of the Week.Watching them really bought back wonderful memories.I have yet to watch the other movies that are on these 2 discs, but I will watch them soon.If you have been as anxious as I have to find the 2 movies I mentioned then don't hesitate to get this DVD.So happy to finally have these movies.I'm hoping that I start to see more movies of the week available on Amazon.Especially THE FEMINIST & THE FUZZ with Barbara Eden.

Great movies! They're older than I thought considering the pictures on the front look newer. But all are good so far!Good, clean movies that show the hardships and determination of those that went before us. Great lessons and stories!

My family likes to have movie nights. So we buy these movie packs in hope for some good movies. Some of them are good and some of them not so much. A lot of movies that they make these days are not kid friendly or appropriate. So, we find these that are old movies and my kids love them.

I had been looking for years for the the Young Pioneers movie that I saw all those years ago. After reading one of the posts on Amazon, I bought this movie. So far only have watched Young Pioneers, but look forward to watching the other movies on these DVDs.

Some of these movies are better than others but it's an overall good selection - to see famous actors in unusual roles such as a young William Shatner as a homesteader is a surprising addition. Nice not to hear bad language or sex scenes. Good family entertainment.

These movies are good entertainment if you enjoy pioneer movies. 3 of them were not suitable for children due to adult content, however for the price it was still good value
