No it does not come with a lid. Great cooking pan, but be careful not to burn things in it, that makes it hard to clean.

Would you cook a steak or chops in a convection over with this pan not by broiling but by convection baking? Rather than a broiler pan?

I would and have. I brown both sides using the stove (2 minutes each side) and then move to the convection oven at 350 for about 6 minutes for rare steaks a little more for chops.

Are these safe to use with a gas cooktop?

I don’t know why not. I don’t cook with gas but I assume it would be fine.

Does the food finish from the pan with nice grill marks?

The grill marks look just like you took the item right off of the grill. The clean up is a no brained. Easy,beady.
