Absolutely amazing
I recently bought a Walkin Wheels wheelchair for my 12 year old black lab mutt who has degenerative myelopathy. I AM THRILLED I am with it!!!I hemmed and hawed on if I could spend $400 on it, not even knowing if it would work for her as other stuff has not. Boy, am I glad I did! It has only been 3 walks so far, but she took to it like a fish to water. She isn't even the kind of dog that likes having her leash put on for a walk before she was having leg problems, but since I got the chair, she sits right down and lets me put on the harness and hook her up and off she goes! She didn't even need treats or time to adjust - first walk was fantastic and each one gets longer and better! She went around the culdesac the first day, now she is going around a very long block. This truly is an awesome product and it gives my baby her freedom and fun back. I felt so quilty when I would take my other dog for a walk and not her as she just could not go. It was a little confusing putting it together until we found the video online, (and it comes with a dvd too, we just didn't realize that at first). After watching the video, though, it was super easy and even easier getting it on and off of the dog. It is exactly what the website and videos show. They have a special place in many people's and pet's hearts with this awesome device.

... he is jumping up steps without help and glowing like a light bulb about to go out
So I dug deep in my pockets for the money to buy this wheel chair for Merlin my dog who sayes he can't walk far or climb a step without help and as he is 100 years old in doggy years I'm hoping he lives till it arrives since now he is jumping up steps without help and glowing like a light bulb about to go out!I received my package on time and put the thing together with Merlin looking on. Adjustment made Merlin was speechless almost, but as he is a working dog and he is always ready to give it a try. He just stood looking at me with are you kidding look and releved his blader more as a statement that general need. He walked forward and then looked at me again, I undid the two side straps and Merlin walked out and finished his evening walk without further comment. The next day when asked to rise for his walk he refused until he received assurances from me that the walk did not involve wheels. The literature makes lots of comment about letting the animal get use to the contraption and be motivated by owner with treats over and over again. If Merlin thought this devised had any merit for me or him he would go along with its use. He was not impressed with the quality manufacture or the transfers of paws or the colorful straps which were all top quality and worth every cent paid....But unless your poch is in great need and you wish to spend a long time training you dog to use this devise don't bother!

walkin wheels med dog wmheelchair
I had a hard time getting it adjusted for my dog. Although the customer service was excellent and Mimi talkedme through. He doesn't care for it and has tipped over in it several times. I believe he has shorter front legs andthis makes his hind legs sit.higher. It doesn't help that his right front paw is very bent due to injury when he was a pup.I do think it is a good product although a bit expensive but unfortunately it hasn't worked for my dog as of today. Sincerely, Patsy Aaron

Great rig but could use better set-up instruction
We bought one for our aging Pug (12 yrs old) who's back end functionality, which was already in decline, was pretty much deep-sixed by a seizure. She recovered in every way from the seizure minus the ability to walk more that a few feet at a time. So this rig works brilliantly. It's fully adjustable and so she is comfortable she's now cruising around on and off-road.The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because the instructions for set-up that come with it are terrible. We ended up going on YouTube to complete it. Honestly, they should just have slip of paper with the YouTube address printed on it instead of the poorly planned out pamphlet and DVD.Still, a great set up for our situation and our pet.

GREAT PRODUCT/HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE
I know this item is fantastic is worth the money for your loving pet. I ordered from Amazon & then cancelled because my boyfriend surprised me & already purchased the identical wheelchair. I only have an issue w/the vendor who is represented by Amazon (the seller of this marvelous wheelchair). I immediately cancelled this order with both Amazon & they assured me (we spoke by phone & then was sent a confirmation email) saying that my order was cancelled. I have their cancellation # & saved all correspondence. I contacted the Seller of Walkin Wheels & they even sent me a confirmation email of cancellation. My complaint is that they shipped the product anyhow & what makes matters worse is that my dog died & she didn't have the enjoyment of using her wheels. Also, we were told that UPS would pick up the unopened box on a Monday and my mom, in her grief (who is 80yrs young) stayed in all day. No UPS that day. We were even told 2 just leave on side of house w/a note on it & my brother had 2 bring the package in (mom couldn't lift) because it was raining & we were afraid of theft). The MAIN ISSUE we have is the poor quality missing today in customer service. We understand in this economy there are cutbacks, yet at what expense? Back to my opinion; EVERYDAY, UPS was spoken with, also AMAZON & the Seller (HADDICAPPED.com) & we were promised a pick up. Finally the package was picked up I think at the end of the week or wk & 1/2.So product great; read all reviews from any site:MESSAGE 4 THE UNITED STATES COMPANIES, WAKE UP: YOUR COMPANY IS ONLY AS GOOD AS THE PEOPLE WHO REPRESENT YOU. If you have machines replacing humans, or cut TWO MANY JOBS & the burden is put on a person doing 3 jobs because of cut backs, then your workers are not too happy & w/o enthusiasm, we cannot expect good ole quality control. That's my opinion INCLUDING THE GOOD W/THE BAD.
