Excellent
Great for skiing or other outdoor winter activities. This stretchy material keeps your neck warm. It also dries quickly when it gets wet from snow or sweat. Take it off during by your lunch break and by the time your ready to head outside again, it'll probably be dry. The material is soft and comfortable without any irritation.

Lightweight protection from wind and sun
This is a great idea and I wish I would have gotten it sooner. It can be used as a scarf or a face mask and scarf. It protects your skin from sun and wind, but is very lightweight and not bulky like a knit scarf. It is a "one size" item and both my husband and I tried it and it fit fine for each of us. We've just used it close to home to keep warm when doing outside work, but it would be perfect for skiing or snowboarding because it's so lightweight. It's comfortable to wear and easy to pack. A great concept that works as well as it sounds.

Did the job in Colorado
I went on a skiing weekend at Keystone/Loveland in Colorado and used this gaiter. It did a perfect job. Even at the top of Keystone I was relatively comfortable. I appreciated this gaiter the most when going up the montezuma lift at Keystone and feeling the wind hit the outside of my face, but feeling none of the cold. It was great. The fit is good for my average sized head. You have to put this over you nose before putting the helmet and goggles on. After the helmet holds the size of the gaiter in place, the goggles should then fit over the gaiter above the nose. So the gaiter is held in place by the goggles and helmet. With this combination it never left my face uncovered. All I can say is that I fully recommend this gaiter!

This but warm gaiter
I have a few neck gaiters, but this is by far the thinnest one. This style has a single thickness of fabric instead of being sewn in a loop and it allows you to use it in a few different ways. You can double it up for more warmth, or just use one layer for less protection. You can also do things like keep the fabric thicker at your neck and then put a little bit over your mouth and nose if desired. The material is very stretchy and I was able to get it on and off over my big head even with glasses on, something I haven't been able to do with other neck gaiters.Fabric is mostly polyester and has moisture wicking for sweat. Stitching is really high quality and the gaiter has the marmot logo and brand name printed on it very large. You can't really read it when wearing it but it looks nice when you have it laid out on a table.Overall, this is a great neck gaiter, especially for athletic use. I've already used it when cross country skiing. It's easy to adjust, even while skiing with gloves on. I still like my SmartWool neck gaiter but this one is a different material and works better when I don't need quite as much warmth, or if I'm doing more physical outdoor activities where I may be prone to work up a sweat.

Uncomfortable, wind goes right through thin fabric
Marmot men’s neck gatorThis gator does not do much in cold weather! I got it thinking that it would be versatile under-layer for added protection from wind and cold, and would fit well under a hat and scarf, specifically covering ears, chin, top of head, etc. The gator was too tight to fit around my head (to expose only my face), so I tried using it only on my neck. It bunched up within minutes, ending up being a twisted ring of fabric that let all the cold air in and down my neck. It sounded like a great idea, but I found this item anything but user friendly. The fabric is paper-thin, so is not suited for use as a neck warmer alone, and the tight construction did not work well for over the top of your head and under the chin use.

Marmot Olympic Valley Neck Gaiter
The Marmot Olympic Valley Neck Gaiter is made of very lightweight fabric. It’s 92% polyester and 8% elastane. It’s stretchy enough to fit over almost any size head, but it’s not very warm. The wind cuts right through it.I wore it on a 50 degree day as an experiment, because I suspected it wouldn’t keep me warm on a colder one. I tried it while cutting the grass at 15mph on a windy day. The gaiter provided no extra warmth; I was freezing by the time I finished. The gaiter is 19 inches long, which is too long, in my opinion. It’s stretchy and enough to fit over the lower portion of the face, but the length adds bulk on the neck. I have to fuss with this gaiter a lot more than other ones I have, to keep it in place.
