We're novice ice skater so don't know much about these things yet. However, I thought the covers were nice and soft, it has an inner liner but it isn't too thick. Overall I think they'll do the job just fine. I mean, for the price? I think they're great.

They come in a vacuum sealed package, not exactly gift giving worthy and when you take them out, they are just o.k. I wish I got the larger size bc you have to really stretch them to get over the blades and I bought the size it said to, so definitely go up a size.

These are very thin and ripped within a few days on my young children's skates. Spend a little more and get plastic/rubber guards.

These lasted my daughter a good 8 to 12 months each. Good set and can stand the abuse from a kid skater.
