Couldn't put it down
This was a great book. Very insightful, humbling, and thought provoking. It claims to be transcribed via an after death communication. It was fabulously done. Even if it was a work of fiction, I would say of all of the NDE, aftermath communication books, this probably ranks at the top for me. It does a great job of describing the experiences of a soul on the other side, and the raw experiences faced by many (if not all of us). It also reinforces the idea that charity and self sacrifice for true, selfless motives are best, and describes the outcomes of true charity vs. selfishness, as well as a full range of other human motives. A great mix of new age spirituality, spiritualism and uncorrupted traditional beliefs of praying for the dead, purgatorial scenes, heavenly scenes, spiritual growth, romantic love, life lessons, and more. Worth re-read or two!

An Amazing and Enlightening Book!
"I have been a Wanderer through a far country, in those lands that have no name--no place--for you of earth, and I would set down as briefly as I can my wanderings, that those whose feet are pointed to that bourn may know what may in their turn await them."So reads the first sentence of chapter one, which sets forth the subject of the nonfiction, 194-page book, "A Wanderer in the Spirit Lands," by Franchezzo. Since reading this fascinating book, I keep going back and rereading parts of it. The book was written in 1896 by A. Farnese, apparently a medium, who says that the words were given to him by Franchezzo himself. Franchezzo was an Italian man who unexpectedly died after an illness, and the book is an account of his experiences after death. Anyone who doubts that there is life after death and that there are consequences for our good or evil deeds should read this book.Franchezzo had lived a selfish life, but sometime before his death he had fallen in love with a woman he called "The Good Angel of My Life." One day, after being very sick, he awoke to find himself in complete darkness. He had died. He learned after some time that there was still hope; by joining a brotherhood of penitents and helping other souls, he could improve his own condition. The way would be long and hard, but would lead to a brighter future. Franchezzo travels in the low realms of hell, has many strange experiences, learns much, overcomes temptations, and helps to rescue souls. His constant hope and goal is to eventually be reunited forever with the woman that he loves. It is not possible to adequately describe the book in a few paragraphs. I believe that anyone who reads this book will be benefited immensely.

One of the best books I have ever read
Almost done with it.... but what a gem! I can see myself reading this quite a few times. It just gives a completely different view of the other side. just nothing like anything what is out there like: "Testimony of Light", "Letters from the Afterlife", "The World Unseen" or even "journey of Souls" series. All of them show a very positive view of heaven; How wonderful everything is and what a great future to lookup to after death...They do point and very briefly mention about some poor souls being so badly screwed up that they are somewhere else, or in "The World unseen", they get even to visit these places. But why are they there? What happen to them? How do thy get out? (They all mention all souls will eventually do) What is their experience?Read this book to find out from one who has been pretty close to it (he didn't go to the lowest level personally, but low enough to make us shiver. Plus, he does go to these levels to help other souls and experience and relate some pretty incredible things)Here is the "first soul" account (if you believe in the writing to be true) of one whose life was so detrimental to himself and others that his experience on the "other side" was not like anything I have ever read or heard before. But the real beauty of this book is that it all fits very beautifully with all the other books (if you believe in them) about souls describing the other side, with an all-forgiving and wondrous "God", of beauty and love beyond our dreams, of growth and joy.Not once I thought: "That doesn't make any sense", or "that doesn't fit with what the "others" seems to be saying". By the contrary: Shown in a totally different view, it only confirms the existing, logic, purpose of our true soul life.It was for me more than awesome to understand about "karmic issues", "thought creations and consequences" in a brand new way. This book is in my view an essential read.I am very sad is about to end soon...

The Afterlife: both awesome and awful
This book deserves more than 5 stars. It is so clear and fascinating, that I wonder why there aren't more books like it around. Maybe there are but I have not come across them. It seems so much more real than so many other versions of the afterlife which have not given us the whole story. I am so glad I read this, and plan to reread it at some time. It is both a message of hope and a warning of the real consequences of what we do. Beautiful, inspiring, fantastic and highly recommended if you feel drawn to it. Not everyone will be ready for this.
