Works out in the elements, and has a 9 month battery life on a rechargable battery!
I hung my transmitter on a garden stake outside, near my full-sun uncovered patio. It's about 100ft from my receiver that is inside my kitchen. There is a small hole/hanger at the top of the outdoor transmitter, that I push a zip tie through to hang it from. Because I hang it from the top of it, rain hits it from the top and sides, but the air vents at the bottom stay dry. I also do not "mount" it to anything, and literally just let it hang out in the open, so it dries out quickly on all sides, and there is no moisture trapped between it and a mounting surface or wall. I bought this 9 months ago, and am just now "recharging" the transmitter for the first time. I realized the transmitter battery needed to be recharged when the receiver in my kitchen was reading the indoor temp/humidity, but only had dots for the outdoor temp/humidity. 9 month battery life = pretty impressive. The hardest part about it was remembering where I put the charging cord for safe keeping. In line with other reviews, there is some discrepancy in the accuracy of the reading - but not enough to make a difference for me. I use this to know whether or not it's okay to leave my temperature-sensitive dog outside for the day while I'm at work. I just factor in the possibility of a 5-10 degree F temperature difference. In fall/winter, if its lower than 60 degrees (or maybe 50 degrees if it's not reading accurately), I do not leave her outside while I'm at work. In the summer, if its already 85 degrees, and it's only 7 am (which means it might be 90+ or over 100 that day), I do not leave her outside. But if its reading between 60-85 degrees outside when I leave for work, the dog gets to stay outside and enjoy it. It's not perfect, but it takes some of the guesswork/worry out of it for me.

Convenient and Accurate Wireless Indoor/Outdoor Temperature Monitor
Decided to try a wireless solution for monitoring the outside temperature as a replacement for our analog "dial" thermometer. Outdoor dial thermometers do not stand up to the very high summer temperatures. Indeed, ours literally melted in the hot afternoon sun. In addition, condensation on the dial face can obscure the numbers on the dial. The ThermoPro 63a provides the exact functionality I was looking for. My one suggestion is to add velcro to the remote sensor to help affix the sensor to the outdoor surface. See photos. The temperature and humidity readings are easy to read. The orange backlight helps improve readability. I have only had the unit for one week but have been happy to this point. The remote sensor does need to be charged before providing accurate readings. The instructions are useful and the set up takes only a few minutes. Although I have only had this product for a short while, I do recommend it as an alternative to outdoor temperature dials.

The hygrometer seems to work just fine. The temperature and humidity indicators are often times vastly different than what any weather source is reporting. Yesterday the humidity randomly jumped up 30% higher in a couple minutes and stayed there, yet the weather reported such a jump never happened. I checked often via both TWC and NOAA but neither reported the sudden humidity spike even as their temperatures lowered upon nightfall. Meanwhile this outdoor unit continued to show 30-40% humidity above both of the weather reports'. I brought it inside to charge it just now, figuring perhaps it was dying since the humidity even now reports 30% higher than TWC and NOAA say it is, and the temperature and humidity settled in to match those of the indoor unit and other indoor hygrometers I have lying around. This tells me it has been correct all along and the weather reports are the ones who are incorrect. I always use what the outdoor unit reports as a guideline rather than what the weather is reporting, since the temperature will often differ between the TWC/NOAA reports and my hygrometer by as much as 10°F and are rarely ever similar. This just tells me that the weather reports are total garbage if I can set a few simple hygrometers outside, shielded from direct sunlight, and record temperatures that are verifiabley accurate, when all the hygrometers of different brands and models report the same or very similar temperature and humidity, yet 5-10°F above or below the weather forecast's current conditions report at any given time. I've had nights where the temperature according to The Weather Channel is 57°F yet my hygrometer reports 66°F and the outdoor temperature on my house's thermostat reports a similar 65°F. As for battery life, there is no outdoor unit battery indicator on the display like the product images show. There is an indoor unit battery indicator in the location shown, but no outdoor one. You can see this on the attached photo. So I have no idea how long the outdoor unit's battery actually lasts for. What I do know is that I mounted it outside in the beginning of February right before the polar vortex and it's now the middle of October and it hasn't died. I'm charging it now just because I've no idea how much juice the battery has left and I know it will last at least nine months longer if I charge it because that's how long I've been running it for already. It's possible it could last twice as long, or even two years, before needing to be charged. But without an indicator of some sort I have no way of knowing that. But I can say definitively that it lasted nine months of temperatures ranging from extreme below zero polar vortex cold to hundred degree summer heat and kept going throughout all of it. My only complaint is a lack of a battery indicator for the outside unit (or units if you have multiple). But the battery life in my experience has been excellent anyway. Update (again) It just finished charging in about 40 minutes. 40 minutes for 9+ months of use is fine by me! My past experience tells me that charging a dead 18650 takes about two and a half hours. So with some quick number crunching that comes out to the battery being only a quarter used. If this is correct then I can expect to get three years out of a single charge. That will obviously take a while to test, but it's nice to know!

Accurate, Easy to Read
One Great Buy. Easy to read from halfway across the room, touch-to-illuminate feature an added bonus. Setup was near instantaneous. Use the magnet or notch on back for instant mounting.

When shipping UPS, the return process can be difficult!
I purchased the device to use with my RV. So I received the item UPS. Opened it the next day and reviewed the instructions, very simple to figure out. After installing the batteries in both components the receiver, was obviously not functioning correctly . It has one read out, 36. The front screen has a black area at the center bottom an area center top that appears to be a scratch under the outer protective glass. I replaced the included batteries with verified new ones, no change. Left it on for and hour no change. Pulled the batteries out and reinstalled, no change. Here's the bigger rub. It has to returned VIA UPS!! Have to print the label, round trip to UPS is probably 45 minutes and 2 gallons of gas. The price of the device is like 22$. Returning it is a waste of time to drive all the way to UPS. I use AMAZON because shipping it to my door. I filled out the return but will not be driving to UPS for the 12 bucks that I would receive from AMAZON! Probably will look for another supplier for my RV.

I'd like to give it 4 stars, but......
I just can't...it needs one too many improvements. Accuracy: I'd say for the price it is 4 stars. I've found the outdoor temperature readings to be usually within 3-4 degrees of official readings (although not always). The humidity is usually within 10% (IF the sensor is kept dry), which is good enough for me to get a general idea of the conditions outside (which is what I use it for). As for indoors, I think the temperature is more accurate and probably the humidity too, but I don't have anything to compare it to so I can't be sure... Ease of use: You can't actually place the sensor anywhere it will get rained on, even if you position it the way that is recommended. You can, but the humidity will read about 20% higher than it actually is for a few days after the rain. Battery: Not so great...2 AAA batteries on the receivers will technically last about 1 year, BUT...after 6 months, the screen starts getting very dim, so practically speaking you have to replace them every 6 months. The sensor needs to be recharged once per year, which is fine. Although now that I think about it, I wonder if the readings get less accurate towards the end of a charge 🤔 Range: I first bought the slightly less expensive version of this product which claimed to have a 200 ft range. Well, I can tell you that it was 30 feet at most until the receiver started missing signals. For this one, I have everything within 50 feet or so and it always picks up the signal. But judging by the other product, the range on this one probably isn't more than 100 feet (check other reviews for that). 2 stars for range. That being said, if all the receivers are closer than that to the sensor, it doesn't really matter, does it? So all in all, I'd still probably call it a "good" product that is adequate for many people. But there are some issues that could be resolved, especially the range issue. I have remote controlled outlets that claim 100 foot range and live up to it for the same price as this product, so I doubt it's that difficult to achieve on the frequency it uses - it should go straight through walls and be able to handle some interference. So it depends how you are going to use it and what you need it for. Only comparable product I could find is LaCrosse and it doesn't seem like the accuracy on that is any better, but maybe the range is. I just don't know. Good luck! -Mark

Buen producto
Buen producto.

Good Accuracy and Both Read the Same.
I am using these temperature units on my RV. The remote is mounted externally away from rain and wind when driving. It tells me the most important aspects, temperature and humidity, that I feel is required. I can mow determine if I need to put the AC on ir just open windows and vents, based on the differences between inside and outside air. I ran these two units side by side in our home's kitchen for a few weeks. The two units were mostly identical or only 1/10 different. To try this test you need to have them right next to each other. Even 6 inches apart there is a slight difference in air movement in the kitchen. I put good quality alkaline leak proof batteries in each unit. Hopefully I get a year or so use out of them. I love the large display with the two readings. In normal room lighting the display is easily read. The touch sensor at the bottom is good and sensitive. Only a light touch and the back light comes on. I am super happy with this product. 6 months later: It looks like the outside unit now has the batteries flat. The battery symbol was showing on the display for both in and outside units. Today I noticed there is no data from the outside unit. That is six months with very good quality alkaline batteries. I am a bit dissapointed about only six months out of the batteries. The outside unit it cable tied under the van at the back of the electric step. Oh well, lay on my back and shimmy under the van to get at the unit...........maybe I will reconsider where I put it, seeing it looks like every six months the batteries need to be changed. I will still give 5 stars. They are very good units.
