Thomas & Friends Wooden Railway, Percy

As a mom of a little boy who specifically asked for Percy for Christmas, it was necessary to search high and low to try to find it at a price fit for a little boy who is rough on his toys a lot. This completely fit what I was looking for! It has held up to all of his crazy play ideas, without breaking, chipping, peeling, or coming apart in any way. We have had this train for almost a year now, and my son still plays with it daily. The price was right, and he was happy! Best you could ask for when it comes to buying toys for active little boys!

My three-year-old son loves Thomas and Friends and he had already gotten some of these wooden trains for Christmas so we decided to get him some more for his birthday. I've seen several different series of the Thomas trains but so far, we like the wooden ones the best because they are extremely durable and the graphics are fairly realistic for being painted on. When he opened this gift on his birthday, my son was so excited! Of course, he wanted to play with Percy right away. Percy is the green number six engine. He measures approximately 3 1/2 inches long and has real working wheels. Some of the trains come with tenders (a cart often filled with coal) but Percy usually pulls the mail so he doesn't have one, at least from the episodes we have seen. Percy is made in China and I love the fact that this series of Thomas trains all have the engine's names on the bottom so you know who they are. There are so many different trains and some of them look alike that it can be hard to keep them all straight. There are magnets on the front and back so you can use Percy with other Thomas and Friends trains and even some of the other cheaper trains we've seen in the stores. My son has so many of these Thomas trains now that he will oftentimes make a big, long train out of all of them! We don't have a Thomas train track; instead, we have the KidKraft Waterfall Mountain Train Set and Table and all of the Thomas wooden trains that we have work perfectly with it. I have yet to find anything I dislike about all of the Thomas and Friends wooden trains. Percy is built of good-quality wood and is painted to look very realistic. I know there are less expensive brands of the Thomas trains out there but I am glad we decided to go with the wooden series and it is worth it for us to pay a little bit more for them. My son plays with them all the time and we will continue adding to his collection. I highly recommend Percy, and all of the other Thomas and Friends trains, to anyone who needs a good gift for a Thomas fan!

Great, solid wood, nice quality Percy. My son has a whole set with the train table, a Thomas, a james and many freight cars. He plays with it for hours and hours every single day. Plus, there are tons of other trains in the Thomas collection that we can add to his set for birthdays and Christmas, as well as rewards for good behavior, etc.

Son wanted Percy to add to his set and after a little bit we finally found this. A lot more expensive than the Thomas one we had bought but the same quality. Wheels are not the greatest, stick on occasion, as the rest of the Thomas sets do. Son was pleased though.

This just delighted my little 3 year old grandson when he opened it on Christmas day! He loves anything to do with Thomas and Friends, and Percy is his favorite. The train is sturdy enough to withstand the sometimes rough play from a rambunctious 3 year old who is still developing his motor skills.

I walked in to a big national toy store looking to replace a few trains my sons had loved and played with so much a wheel has broken and was non repairable. I had both trains in hand walking to checkout during the holiday shopping season. The line was so backed up that I decided to see if I could order them from Amazon. Wouldn't you know they were a few dollars cheaper and being a Prime member free 2 day shipping. They were stocking stuffers so having to wait for them was easy! Loving Amazon!
