Great fun!
This is a really cool toy and uses some pretty cool technology. It comes with 8 colored bracelets that the ball can identify when the wearer catches the ball. There are four games to play including, "figure out the sequence (of catchers)", hot potato, speed pass in which the ball tells you where to throw next, and make your own sequence that grows and you have to repeat. It's a nice active way to keep your brain moving. The wrist bands are somewhat bulky in your hands (you have to wear the plastic medalion in your palm), but I had my 8 year old wearing them and playing w/o any real trouble. The ball is the standard soft nerf material and yes the batteries are buried in it, but with the right jeweler's phillips head screw driver (or even a regular small regular one) you won't have any trouble. I did not have any of the battery contact trouble referred to in other reviews, but we did only play it for about an hour so far.

Lasted 48 hours
My son got this for his birthday. His Uncle bought it for him and I thought it looked like a great concept. It took me a good 30 minutes to open the battery compartment which was frustrating since all the boys at the party wanted to try out the toy. There has been alot of tv ads on and my son was the first kid to get this. The boys played with it the afternoon of the party. the next day my son was just playing toss with it with his 3 year old sister and it started to just shut off. I tried opening the battery compartment, which again took at least 30 minutes and even putting new batteries it still keep shutting off. By day 2 The toy would not even turn on. Of course with all the birthday party clean up the box was thrown out so we could not even return it.I like the idea of the toy, any toy that gets kids outside inside of in front of the video games but this toy just isn't quality. I suggest if you do decide to purchase this open the plastic and put the batteries in for your child before you wrap it.

Cosmic Catch unreliable
The Cosmic Catch is an ideal toy for teaching directions and honing listening skills, if you get one that works reliably. The one that I have used so far doesn't always turn on and turns off in the middle of play. Too bad cause I really liked it when it was demonstrated. I ordered 3. I hope I don't have the same experience with the other two.

A ton of fun in a little ball
This game is a lot of fun for all ages. Even small children can have fun with it, but adults or older kids playing with small children may be impatient with slow play from small children. I believe it is most fun with people ages 8-up trying to see how fast they can play.It handles normal drops on the ground quite well, and that happens a lot when you are playing fast. I have used this at two outdoor parties and it generates a lot of laughter, both from the participants and onlookers.Colored hand bands are worn by the players. The ball speaks out what color each player needs to toss to and senses the colored hand band to tell if you are correct and to alter the speed and play of the game. Tossing about 3-6 feet max is best because you don't want to chunk this thing across the yard and bust it, and close play makes for faster play, too.Keep a small Philips screwdriver and extra batteries handy. Sometimes, the unit will stop after a drop and a quick check of the battery seatings will get the unit back up. It will take a screwdriver to open the unit, which can be a little hard to find the first time because of the padding on the ball.It was a little hard to find the toy, even online, and I thought it was a little high priced, but it was worth it. The game can be played indoors or outdoors. If played indoors, you need a little toss room and keep in mind that people can get pretty loud laughing and yelling.

Great Game!
This game was a gift for my nephew's birthday. We gave it to our kids a few years ago for Christmas and loved it so much, we wanted to share the fun with him. He's 8 years old, but this game is great for kids and adults alike! Anyone who likes to throw and catch will have tons of fun. It's like an electronic hot potato with different game modes. The electronic sponge ball is is programmable. Highly recommended!

Fun toy, but prone to breaking
Got this toy for my kids (age 10) for the holidays. Went out to play with it, they had a good time while it worked, but after about 5 minutes, it kept shutting off whenever it was thrown. Returning it for a refund.

Great game for ALL ages......
Love it!!! I bought this when my two boys were like 3 and 5. So, we have used this for the past 8 years! Works great!! Many people can play. Gets harder as the games continue making it more fun! We take it camping EVERY trip. Can even play in the house! Easy turn on, easy turn off. Not a single thing wrong with this product. Buy it, you'll love it!
