Omron Pain Relief Pro

I have to say I was shocked by this little setup. I have had chronic issues with sacroiliac joint inflammation and the related lower back pain for the last year or so. Even if I take it easy in the gym or take time off altogether, the issues come back quickly once I resume training. I notcied a real benefit from receiving electrotherapy at the chiropractor's office and wanted to be able to replicate that at home. I spotted this unit at CVS for $70 and thought "I bet I can get that a lot cheaper on Amazon," which turned out to be true. After FedEx dropped it off, I installed the included batteries, attached the pads and wires, and applied the pads to my lower back. I set it on "lower back" and worked the intensity level up to 8 for the recommended 15 minutes. I was amazed that I was able to exactly replicate the experience I had at the chiropractor's office in terms of intensity and pain relief. I will probably save the 9 and 10 power settings until I am really hurting.In the box, you get the device itself, two pads that transmit current from the device to the muscles, the required wires, batteries, a belt clip for the device, a cloth carrying bag, instructions/quick start guide, and a plastic "holder" that you can stick the pads to for safekeeping. The pads are surprisingly sticky but, to my surprise, did not leave any type of residue on my skin. As stated above, Omron claims a 150 use lifespan for the pads, and I see that being entirely plausible. Replacements are available here on Amazon for something like $14 or so per pair, so that's not a lot in terms of maintenance costs.For me, the power of this device is more than enough to help treat my moderate to severe lower back pain. I do not know if I will ever turn the power level all the way up. I am fairly lean, though, so there is little in the way between the pads and my muscle tissue. Since body fat is not a good conductor, I can see why a person with a little more body fat may desire a more powerful device. I think it is awesome, though, and a very nice surprise. Not that I expected a useless product, I just didn't expect it to be quite this effective. This was completely worth the money and I noticed a difference in pain level immediately after my first use.

I have purchased 3 of the Omron Pain Relief Pros in less then 5 days, each time I have ordered one for myself, I have ended up gifting the one I ordered for myself to one friend with shoulder pain and to another friend with lower back pain. I realized after my last acupuncture session (after the acupuncturist attached electrodes to the needles), last week -- the sensation of the treatment was similar to the Omron electroTHERAPY Pain Relief Device PM3030 (predecessor of the current model, which my mother borrowed and kept), so I ordered the new improved model. My friends have been appreciative of the immediate pain relief. So based on my friends pain relief and my desire to finally get my own -- 5 stars. This model has 8 different pain relief programs with 10 intensity levels per program and 3 types of massage programs. If you don't need a fancy model consider getting the simpler model (at almost half the price) which is still available but it only has 3 pain relief programs and 5 intensity levels with NO massage programs.NOTE: The sticky pain relief pads which come with this model seem to be sticker then the pads that come with the predecessor model but I still don't think it will last the 150 times, the packaging claims.

This is an upgrade from the original Omron that I had. With the additional intensity levels, I expected a bit more variety than I had with the smaller unit. I am not seeing a significant difference in the operation of the unit, however the size, and quality is much improved. This is a very efficient and useful product for someone like myself that has chronic back pain. 2-3 sessions and I find that I feel much better and can continue working while I use the unit. Overall, I am very pleased and it is well worth the cost. Yes, it is definitely the home version for electro therapy but the relief it provides is excellent. I would recommend to anyone that has back pain but that does not require the continual use of pain medication for relief. This unit will not likely help those levels of pain.

Once you get this on it works very well and is a wonderful relief you can adjust to your comfort level. However, I need this on my lower back and positioning these where you can't see what you are doing and/or backwards in the mirror, is quite a trick. Also, this is at about my waistline where your clothing moves against the patches and wires. So, sitting, standing, manuevering in and out of the car was too much for it and it went all askew. You really will need to have someone help you put this on and reposition as necessary if your back is your target area.

This has to be one of the best things I have ever purchased. I suffer from periodic sciatica attacks that hit without warning. Only strong drugs will totally take the pain away, but this little portable unit works wonders at providing relief. The pain not only goes away with the treatment but stays away for hours. The flexible easy to apply and remove pads can be moved and follow the pain from the back through the hip and down the leg, helping relieve the pain at each stop.Not a cure all, still need the Drs' and drugs to totally regain function. but this little wonder makes the wait time bearable. Wish I could give it 10 stars
