Heatshield Products 175202 Heatshield Armor 1/2" Thick x 2' Wide x 2' Long Exhaust Pipe Heat Shield

Cut to a rough dimension, stripped 3/4" of the underside insulation away around the perimeter, and folded the edges over to give a cleaner look. Formed to my turbo manifold very nicely. I used a thin screwdriver to punch holes in areas where I could get a stainless locking tie inserted and have it secure to the pipes. I used Dorman stainless locking ties from the local auto parts store and they worked perfect. Haven't fired up the car so can't comment on performance, but installation was much easier than expected and it turned out pretty nice.

I used this to wrap the exhaust manifold on an old Toyota 22R-E engine.Kept the heat shields on, then put this over it. That's the best way. You've still got the air space to protect the metal (this is the problem with header wrap, they eventually rust by holding moisture to the metal), and the great insulation that I feel is an improvement over ceramic coating. Best of both worlds. I literally just wrapped it around the manifold. No need to use any retainers.Engine bay temps are MUCH lower!Great product!Use this for your turbo or exhaust manifold.

Put this on my Cumins diesel downpipe & definitely keeps the heat out from under the hood.

I was skeptical at first but this is actually some good thick durable heat shield. I got .5" but its actually more like 3/4. Its basically just good thick fiberglass with nice thick aluminum foil. It can almost hold its own shape and you can mold it around things. I used it to insulate a car firewall and used spray adhesive to hold it to the wall.Fantastic stuff, would buy again!

Awesome product! Exceeded my expectations. Easy to work with and form around 5” exhaust on Detroit series 50 on a madill 2200 feller buncher. Kept engine compartment cooler than the factory stuff did for a third of the price.

Lowered my boosted air temp by 30/40% and cool for multiple runs and especially sumer!!! Great stuff!!!

I like the product. I put it around my ceramic headers in location near my starter due to what I felt I was experiencing heat soak. I haven't had the same slow starting issues.
