Great time saver!
Great tool and time saver! Wish I had gotten it earlier! Made painting a 16’ x 30’ deck a breeze. May be a little heavy for some for overhead work, and it's not designed for tight spaces due to the ratchet mechanism extension when fully loaded with paint. I find it eliminates drips and spreads an even coating of paint. I have not had an issue with leaks as some have reported, but I do reapply petroleum jelly to all gaskets as instructed. I also haven’t had any issues with clean up – actually, I find it is a lot easier than using a paint tray or a sprayer. Time wise, cleaning out the roller’s main body and roller pad takes no more time than cleaning up a paint tray, drips on a can from pouring paint into the tray, and cleaning the roller pad itself. I have cleaned this roller both inside at the kitchen sink and outside with a bucket. Like any paint method with a roller, the cleanup time for the pad itself is the longest process, unless you usually use a disposable roller; and no cleanup will be as fast as tossing out a paint soaked pad.

All around bad buy unfortunately
I bought this item because it had all good reviews. I now think manufactures pay people to review and rate many of these items.Cons: Heavy to work with (just imagine all that paint in the tube), leave's bad lines where the paint seeps out of the roller , the nap on the roller cover isn't that good, doesn't save any time really, wastes paint instead of saving, can't do bottom half of walls in small areas because it's too long. Hand rolling turns out much better and more versatile. Cleanup is more work than the conventional rolling.Pros: Lesson learned don't buy these roller types of gadgets. Limit self to essential supplies and don't buy into more.*I must help out my fellow DIY'ers

Surprisingly effective. I can see why some may have bad experiences.
Pros -I'm probably painting 2x as fast with this. What else matters? It's fairly cheap compared to what just a normal roller and extension stick would cost you.Cons -Clean up sucks.Limited replacement roller choices.Several points of possible failure that could make things messy.Very long when fully loaded which makes tight spaces difficult.Overall I'm very pleased with this product. I've painted 3 coats on my 2.5 story entryway with excellent results (1 primer, 2 paint coats). I've found that not only am I much faster when working in all situations (floor, ladder, stairs) I also make almost no mess. Since you are in control of the exact amount of paint on the roller once you get the hang of this thing you are never putting too much paint on the wall or roller so rarely do you have anything dripping to the floor (I don't even put floor protection down now I'm so confident).Like most good machines in life this requires periodic "servicing" and cleaning. If you let paint dry in certain places it will no longer seal correctly and can leak. If you clean it too well you will remove the grease off the joints and paint can leak through there. I am perfectly happy spending 15 minutes cleaning and lubing this in the sink after a day of painting instead of lugging around a roller tray that can spill, having times of too much paint on the roller causing it to run on the wall or splatter on the floor, and going up and down the ladder often or balancing the tray on the ladder while working up high. Will you see the pros using it? No. They probably don't tape either. They are pros and have spent many years of their life painting and have reached a skill level which I never will or care to. As an average painter this thing definitely saves time. The only real downfall is it's size in tight areas, it's really long when fully loaded because the plunger extends all the way out. I'm docking a star for that and the maintenance requirements. If I have to throw this out after a few more jobs because it stops working I will not hesitate to buy another one. It pays for itself quickly in my opinion.
