I had CEL coming on the dash, system lean! after short diagnostic, I found the membrane to be broken. I got this replacement part (instead of getting the whole valve cover) and it fixed the problem. Very easy to install and it is holding well so far.

Even if this fix didn't work out, it's still worth trying first. I have a 2006 VW Jetta 2.5L and one evening the RPM's started rhythmically fluctuating from 700 to 3000 back to 700 up to 3000 both at idle, and while driving if I was in a gear (manual trans 5-speed) that kept the motor under 3000 rpm's. I could feel the car coasting, then engine braking, coasting like an automatic, then engine braking, just like if I were in neutral or clutch pulled in.After a quick OBDII code scan, using Torque Pro on my Pixel 2 XL and a cheap bluetooth OBDII adapter, I got Air Leak in Intake System, plus some other, later codes that were misfires, High RPM Idle, etc.... first thing I did was pop the cover off of the PCV valve and saw that it had a decent sized tear in the diaphragm. If you remove the air tube from that part of the PCV vacuum system and cover it with your palm you should hear the car return to a mostly normal idle. Replaced the PCV diaphragm, spring, and cap with this kit. It's been over a week and the car runs fantastic. Best $16 a VW 2.5L owner will spend. Save yourself time and money and try this first if you have determined that your Positive Crankcase Ventilation valve has failed. A VW dealer will cost you over $500 for a $16 DIY fix. I've not experienced any of the issues that others have stated, or that I've heard on YouTube about these PCV kits. If that changes I will update my review. But for now I've done about 1800 miles of mixed driving (highway and city) in 70 to 90 degree weather, rain, and so far zero issues. Car is super smooth since replacement, so mine must have been going for at least a few months now. Unmetered air is not a good thing for basic engine performance and fuel efficiency.

Fits good, but it was a bit hard to install. I needed a flat head screwdriver to push de edges so they would fit. Seems like good quality have only been using it for a week but no problems so far. The old pcv valve cracks down when you take it out jjst be careful and try to install tge new one correctly.

Fixed a p0106 code on a 2012 Volkswagen passat. Easy to install. OEM like quality.

Initially I just use the foam and spring of this product. The bkack cover dosnt fit on my VW JETTA 2.5 (diferent position of clips), the spring is shorter. Now I feel little bit slow my car. When is cold the RPM comes down as if it were warm engine. I will replace back to the old spring, maybe works.

Have purchased and replaced 2 of these on my 2010 Audi A4. Takes about 15 minutes to do and 90% of the time this is the only this that needs to be replaced when you have EGR issues/rough idle/etc. Will absolutely buy again if I need to.

Fixed the whistling coming from my 2007 Jetta 2.5. Was easy to install.

As an Auto mechanic for too long , this product look and fit alot better than Dorman part. the only thing that I don't like is nowhere I can find in local srore.
