Better quality than the cheap stuff
I gave these out (along with a number of decently rated cheap $0.5-1 Amazon models - I have tried two other popular models) at a birthday party for a 2 year old nephew.-These hold a fair amount of water (compared to the small traditional models available on Amazon.com) and are easy to fill FAST. Each shot only uses a bit more than an old fashoned trigger pull power water pistol (say 50% more), so you are not constantly refilling the guns.-Due to moderate water usage per shot, people do not get too soaked. And when little kids start using them indoors a bit, there is no real harm done.-100% of what was handed out worked! Unlike the cheap "traditional" looking pistol stuff on Amazon in a 25 pack where nearly 1/3 were immediate rejects (and many more broke in short order with even light usage). On a slightly better popular Amazon model with an extra spherical resevoir on top, initial DOA was about 1/8 with perhaps another 1/3 breaking after an hour of moderate use by little kiddies. I would bet that these will, on average, function for a fair number of days of moderately rough use.-No seam leakage on day 1. Not even dribbling when pulling the trigger. A level of quality control and the use of better materials (vs the cheap stuff) is clear.-Tougher than the cheap models - even when one got a bit scuffed it was fine.-On one other popular Amazon model with an extra spherical resevoir on top, the plastic by the nozzle can/does sometimes come off with 2-3 year olds and presents a choking hazard (nozzle parts and grip parts were sometimes poorly glued on - once I figured this out in a prior excusion, I pulled the nozzle parts of each of the cheaper guns to take off the onces that were loose - they worked with or without same). Here, everything was well secured and kid friendly. Yes, some kids will stick the smaller guns in their mouth as a source of drinking H2O (not a great idea on any level, but hard to stop).-Surprisingly, 2 year old birthday boy Z (caveat: he is big for his age) was able to use the Zipfire (part of the reason I also had the smaller/cheaper guns was I had guessed it was too big for him). Range was limited to perhaps 10 feet for the 2 year old (the harder you press, the further the stream goes). 2 1/2, 3 and 4 year old nephews had better range (15 feet+ for the 3 and 4 year old) and adults can use these to their full potential (20+ feet or so with low wind). I was surprised that all the kids involved could hold/use the Zipfires. ALL HAD A PREFERENCE FOR THIS OVER THE SMALLER TRADITIONAL MODELS (although many liked to carry a second smaller gun for dual-wielding goodness). Some little kids will use them on each-other or adults, some will primarily use them to shoot at ants and such with a goal being to "clean bugs".-Note that 2-4 year olds will have a preference based on color. Although, in the above case, all was good (2x of each color allowed for all in involved to be reasonably happy with their choices).Bottom Line: A great choice if you are willing to pay a bit more and one of the goals is not to really soak anybody or to get the indoors of a house soaked. However, for older kids/adults, it would not really be fair to have some armed with this and others to have high volume devices. Will order more for the next kiddie event.

Rapid fill is great
We bought two packs of these water guns. What I really like is how quickly these fill up. The cap on the back has a large opening that allows for rapid fill. These have a long range considering how small they are. The water lasts for about 10 minutes before needing to be refilled. The time it takes to refill them though makes these a good guy.We wanted cheap water guns to use over the summer. We had bought some $1 ones with a very small cap and opening. They took so long to fill that it wasn't even worth using. They also leaked. So far these do not leak. It's very easy to rapid fire with these water guns. The quality is what you would expect from Nerf water guns. They aren't cheaply made but don't cost an arm and a leg. I feel like these are good value when you need a large quantity of water guns for an affordable price.TL;DRPROS:Rapid fillRapid fireLong rangeDoesn't leakCONS:Doesn't hold large amounts of waterTip: Take a large bucket of water outside for easy fill. (Doesn't waste water with kids leaving hoses running and works if you don't have a hose)

Durable, Very Compact, but Little Output, and Leak Randomly
These are durable (bought have used them since January of this year till now. They are very compact, I can easily put one in the front or back pocket of my shorts without any bulkiness, but because of the size, the output is not enough to truly scared my stubborn subject, but they still have an effect on the subject ;)! If I had a second chance, I would buy something with more amount of water for each shot, and a bit bigger for better range. For the size, the range of this model is not bad, but if it could be a bit a bit better then it would be more effective for my purpose. It's too bad the manufacturer decided to discontinue this packet of 3, since the price I got was rather good, and even with the negative factors mentioned above, this would be a good choice for small kids and durable for tough players.

all three guns worked great for a couple weeks, then one sort-of broke, then another
edit: A second gun broke in the same way as the first--it squirts a mist of water not suitable for a water battle. See below for more details from my original 4-star review.~~~~~~~~~~~In summary, all three guns worked great for a couple weeks. Even my two-year old could squirt them, albeit not as far as my four-year old. They could undo the cap for refilling, but my two year old needed help snapping it back shut. The guns shoot a nice little stream of water, perfect for kids to play with without soaking themselves or anyone else. Somewhere along the line of getting used and manhandled as little kids are wont to do, one of the guns stopped spraying in a stream and started misting out the nozzle. I'm not sure why that happened or if there's an easy fix. So I can't assign blame except to say that the guns aren't completely kid-proof. Amazon credited me $5 for the malfunctioning gun, however, so that was nice and didn't require any returning hassle. As other reviewers have said, the water capacity and sturdiness of these pistols are superior in comparison with other small cheap guns, and even little kids (my son just turned two) can have a lot of fun with them, though, be forewarned, a two-year-old may rather spray the water into his mouth than elsewhere. Still, pistol water is probably safer than snails and rocks, which are his usual go-to cheek stuffers.I would hope that the guns wouldn't break on older kids and adults, who would be more gentle on them. But of course, they're probably much more suitable for younger kids. In the end, my son may just have shoved the pistol in the dirt a few times and messed up the nozzle tip. If I figure a way to fix the spray, I'll update my review again.
