Honeywell HHT-011 HEPA Clean Compact Air Purifier, 85 sq. ft.

I think I've had this Honeywell for most of this year and it has not had one problem yet. I read many reviews on different air purifiers before deciding on this one. They all had pretty much the same complaint with the other purifiers. For me, this was just the best solution.First, I've never ever had a problem with a Honeywell product, so I was pretty much sold when I saw this one even after reading reviews for other purifiers. Second, their customer service has always been helpful. Third, I loved the double filtration system this one has.The only problem I have with it, and it's on my end not theirs, it's just a little to small for the room I use it in. I was just guessing how big my room was...now I know that this little one is just a tad bit too small. So when I decide to get a bigger one, this will be moved to another room! I wouldn't stop using this one unless it was really old and just broke one day. That's just how much I like this one.For people who have problems with noises, I hate to break it to you all, most electronics of this type makes some sort of noise. If that bothers you, you could get a bunch of plants or whatever and try that. For me, it's white noise that goes along with the fans I already have blowing in my room. I actually find that all that white noise helps me fall asleep. I've always had that problem, I cannot sleep unless there's something like this in my room. I think it's actually extremely quiet. When it's on and the fans aren't blowing I just don't notice it.The up keep is so easy my cat could probably do it. The first line of defense is a washable filter. It's just that easy. Take it out, wash it thoroughly. You'll probably be a tad grossed out when you do this for the first time. I certainly didn't expect it to be as dirty as it was. So every time I wash it, I kinda get the case of the ickyness. This first filter does do all the heavy lifting before things get to the HEPA filter. I wash it once a week but that's just me wanting to actually preserve the life of my machine. If you wait until about three weeks you'll notice a difference in smell right away. It's just a good habit to get into to make this air purifier keep on working efficiently. You'll see plenty of complaints by other people that theirs breaks (stops working) really fast and I'm will to guess that this is why theirs breaks...they do not clean the filters out properly. One tiny thing more...make sure the filter is completely dry before putting it back in. Mine only takes about 20 minutes or so and it's ready to go again.The HEPA filter cannot be and absolutely should not be washed. It will ruin it. That's pretty much a fact. And I wouldn't go as far as saying it would never need to be replaced. I've taken mine out every time I wash the first filter and it still has a bunch of dust/debris that needs to be either vacuumed out or shaken out. That part only takes a few minutes to do. I do this once a week as well. I would suggest getting at least two extra HEPA filters as a backup. They are inexpensive and it provides a sense of security just in case something does happen to the first HEPA filter it comes with. Again, that's just a recommendation. It helps you out if you don't have time to properly clean the dirty filter. Just pop a newer one in and clean the other one when you have the time to. Just do not EVER wash the HEPA filter and I cannot stress that enough!Overall I give this five stars because it's really earned it. Treat it right and you'll get tons of use out of it. I ordered my first in January 2011. 8 years later, it is still running strong. I reduced it by one star because the "Permanent" HEPA like filter isn't really permanent. We are a non smoking home with non shedding small dogs in the desert southwest. I got this more for its white noise than to actually clean the air in our rather large master bedroom so the unit runs only at night while sleeping but often gets forgotten and runs all day. After 8 years of use, it developed a whistle, quite annoying while trying to sleep. I cleaned the "permanent" filter repeatedly but the whistle would not subside. I ordered a replacement filter and the whistle is gone! 8 years is pretty impressive but still not "permanent". By the way, we liked the unit so much we ordered a second for our motorhome, invaluable at noisy RV parks. That unit does a much better job cleaning the air because of the small space and the original "Permanent" filter is still going strong. It has been in the motorhome for 6 years but obviously is not used daily.As far as cleaning the air, it collects a ton of dirt but is definitely made for small spaces. In small spaces, one may find it too loud, especially on high. This sound, however, is exactly why we got it. On low it is a soft white noise that blocks out most other sounds for a quiet night's sleep.

We have been looking into new air cleaners because the one we had the filters were going to cost $30. We have had Honeywell in the past and had no issues for many years. With smoking in the man cave that the air can get prett nasty. We usually have it set at a one or two and have yet to be were it is not cleaning the air. The sound is not too bad compaired to some we have had. It is no louder then our fan. The size is nice because we can place it anywhere and it will fit. The blowers are very strong and moves a lot of air. I am very pleased with the purchase and happy with the results. The allergy issue has also cut down greatly with pet dander there is a lot of stuffed family members. This has greatly reduced the issues and plan to be putting more around my house. The cost to maintain this product is very low and worth it well over the long run. I bought this on the Amazon wearhouse deals and know they have them all the time for people to pick this up at a great price.

2 cats and a new dog in the house... Needed something to cut down on the Crud floating around in the air... Yep, I was thinking good pair clippers would do it, but a bald dog holds a grudge. I picked up 3 of these instead (3 should explain how desperate I was) . The house is 2600 square feet and I wont kid ya, these will not do the trick for that kind of square footage, however, I put one in the bed room, one in the living room and one in the man cave. They seem to work best when elevated (Get the unit up off the ground) I plopped these unit on top of the boxes they came in and they make a significant difference probably about a 10 of the stuff floating through the air. I am happy with this purchase and may let the Exwife pick up a few for her... uh what ever you don't call a man cave thingy... Good price, good product. Clean them once a week with a vacuum. A side note: (Don't be like me) Make sure you read the direction before you plug it in. (Not idiot proof, but close) >=-)

As far as the noise complaints, I really didn't find it too loud. It's comparable to a normal fan for noise. I have major allergies so bought this thinking it would help. I left it run on high while I was at work and then left it on low until I turned it off to go to bed (as it is too loud for me to sleep beside). By the third day it was so hard to breathe I had to fan in air from the hallway. I guess it triggered my asthma, I haven't used it since. No I did not try the ion part due to reading the warnings for that triggering asthma. I am disappointed that it did not work for me.

Mi familia agradece este producto les ha ayudado con sus alergias al proporcionar aire mas limpio, tambien me gusto que el filtro es permanente por lo que a la larga significa un ahorro, lo que menos me gusto es que es un poco ruidoso pero nada que moleste en exceso.

Es un equipo muy bueno, aunque no me llegó el que aparece en la fotografía. Siento mejoría en mi entorno. Mis alergias han mejorado.Su única desventaja es que un poco ruidoso.

Me encanta este purificador, es pequeño pero suficiente para mi habitación pequeña, los filtros son muy fáciles de limpiar aunque es un poco ruidoso (76-80 db mas o menos no es exacto pues lo medí con el celular) pero en mi caso no he tenido problemas para dormir cuando esta encendido. Yo si podría recomendarlo para las personas que no les moleste mucho el sonido, y una gran ventaja es que trae ionizador que por el precio esta muy bien.
