I will call him “Little Punk” —he is a young red cardinal just becoming red—and uses the reflection of my window to show off how strong and fearless he is to all the other birds. Literally, every bird in the neighborhood sits in the trees and watches this little guy hit my window every single day, every few seconds, from dawn until just before dusk—which prevented me from sleeping (I work graveyard shift!) and it soon became so annoying that I covered the shrub with a plastic sheet—which did not stop him! Little Punk just used the sheet as a landing pad! Everyone in my state could hear me when I clinched my fist and yelled the most echoing, billowing vow that I will get my window back and regain a rested sleep again! Imagine the level of crazed browsing through Amazon that took over me, I felt like I was channeling a character running for her life in the horror movie The Birds.These silver spindles arrived quickly, and I laughed as I hung them ALL 12 on the bush outside my window. Yes...I had high hopes and no time to waste. Little Punk definitely watched me hang the spindles, after all, I interrupted his workout! Wow did they do the trick! He was so bummed, he couldn’t get the wingspan to do his fly and attack stance, but hilariously, he soon found another window on the other side of the house to practice his prowess. Which is FINE for me! I now laugh at the repetitive sound of his little beak and claws and wings hitting the window of my laundry room! And yes, he’s still entertaining the crowd, who have now started small bird businesses up, like a sports arena, one bird sells concessions, another is doing a play by play of the event, there’s even a cheerleading squad now, and a few fans gathering! I’m pretty happy none of this is going on outside my bedroom window anymore!!!!!The silver spindles WORK 100%!!!!!

I like the fact that birds pause on the deck and railing less frequently. They fly away from areas where the rods are rotating. They're attractive when the sunlight hits them. I used shoelaces to attach them to the deck railing. It enabled them to spin in the sunlight more easily.Using them with an animal citrus liquid repellent on the deck itself has proven helpful. That needs to be reapplied every few weeks. This was a very good purchase for a second story deck.

This is our first spring in this house and needless to say were quite shocked to discover swallows making a nest. My husband got rid of it and assumed that would be the end. Nope! They moved to the top of a column support the roof. The mess they are making is awful...all over the porch floor, house, glass door. Tried several things and decided to try these - doesn't phase these birds at all. Nothing scares them so why I thought a piece of plastic would do the trick I'm not sure. I am going to leave them in place for a week and if no improvement they will be sent back.Well, I gave them time to work - they don't. Maybe they scare some birds but they do not scare swallows at all. I think it is time to send them back. Now to find an envelope to send them back in.

Bought to keep birds from hitting the windows. No bird accidents so far! But I would recommend them as a shiny addition to any yard or house, love how they move and lights up the inside and makes a great cat toy chasing the reflections. The rubber to hang them seems like they’ll break, as they’re in the sun so I replaced with fishing wire. I hung them using S hooks off my gutters. I found these other hooks at the dollar tree and love how they look. Also easier to hang with out climbing on my step stool.

Bought these to deter swallow birds diving in my patio area. Does not work at all! I had reflective bird scare tape up beforehand that was working well, but thought this might look better. I took down the reflective bird scare tape down last night and replaced it with these, and sure enough this morning the birds are back in my patio area.

No bird poop on my car since I hung these in my palo verde tree! Seriously! I live in Phoenix, Arizona and this worked great. I saw the other review mentioning Phoenix and I had to try it. Before, I could not park in my driveway for even a few hours without getting pooped on. I like the stretchy strings on them. I think the key is to place them so that they freely hang and are able to spin in the wind. I stood on a small step ladder and placed as many as i could that way, trying to disperse them on all levels of the tree. To get them higher, I tied another string to their stretchy string and tossed them higher up in the tree. It worked.

I got these because we got new windows and for some reason we have birds flying full speed into our living room window and scaring the crap out of us! I thought these things were really big for some reason so I ordered them and it turns out they are only like 10 inches long but I thought I would give them a try and we haven't had any birds hit the widow since I put 2 of these on the Christmas light hooks (one on each hook) on the bottom edge of the the roof!It doesn't take a lot of wind to turn these things but the string that comes with them breaks when a good storm comes around so we just put some kite string in them and it works pretty good! If you use the kite string make it longer than the one that came with it so it can turn easy! They don't break if they fall to the ground!

I've used the tapes and streamers and they seem to sooner or later shred, get tangled, etc. These spirals work great and continue to look attractive. They seem to hold up well, and are easy to install. I bought the package, but have only needed half of them to keep the birds away from a 40' dock.

We use these to stop birds flying in to our windows. They work well!
